Yep, a rockin and a rollin in San Diego. Luckily, centered in an isolated area of the desert south of Mexicali. Sure sloshed my aquarium. My German grandchildren got a taste of a BIG one. There is sure to be damage closer than here to the epicenter. Just had another aftershock as I typed this.

Pretty darn strong here. It lasted about a minute, started moderately, then continued to intensify. The strongest shaking lasted about 30 seconds. Now it is up to 5 moderate aftershocks in the last 50 minutes. My Minnesota wife is not stoked. I say better than a tornado. There had been a swarm of moderate earthquakes reported over the last few days near the epicenter leading up to this big one. It was on or near the famous San Andreas fault.

Actually we have X (21 last count, CAN'T KEEP UP WITH THESE!) earthquakes making a strange pattern around the area. Main one was 6.9 near Guadalupe, Mexico 22:40:40 UTC 3:40 p.m. local PST

4.5 4:09 Baja Near Mexicali 4.8 also 4:09 at the epicenter
5.1 4:15 100 miles away El Centro, CA
3.8 4:19 South San Diego County
3.6 4:22 2 Near Julian, San Diego County
5.4 4:25 Again near Guadalupe, Mexico
4.3 4:34 Closer than above 4.5 to Mexicali, Mexico and Calexico, CA, Mexicali side of border (yes those cities are complementary named)
4.7 4:37 Mexicali, Mexico (Mexico side of border) / Calexico, CA area
3.5 4:46 California side of Calexico, Ca Mexicali area
3.4 4:48 Near El Centro
3.6 4:53 Mexicali area
3.1 4:54 Near some road to Escondidio, CA
3.4 4:48 Near El Centro, CA
3.4 4:49 Salton Sea East Coast
3.0 5:01 Julian, CA area again
3.1 5:02 Salton Sea West Coast
5.1 5:07 south of original Guadalupe area in Sonora, Mexico

California misses me! I'll be baaaaacck! (Tomorrow actually!)

Just heard about the quake, hope everybodies safe and no serious damage. We're getting drenched in the Bay Area for Easter Sunday, but no shakin' goin' on. Let's hope the San Andreas simmers down real soon.

We aren't done yet...well over 100 and counting aftershocks, many over 3.0...so far.  Expect a >6 in the next few days.

My clue it was coming?  Unnoticed actually...I was listening to Commander Cody Live, although not the song Ain't Nothing Shaking  , when the disc started skipping like crazy... Of course I cursed, and it was a long moment later the real shaking started.

Saw on the news the epicenter was real close to San Felipe in Baja. Lots of retired ex-patriots there, but no reports from there yet.
