Topic: NETBOOK!

Just picked up a super cheap computer to replace my old one that just crashed.  Eee PC netbook for $279!  I decided to go for the netbook because of 3 things really.  1) size.  my old notebook was a 17 inch monitor and weighted a good bit while traveling.  2)Cheap, I never used my DVD burner so I decided to drop it.  3) Price.  To get a good notebook I was going to have to drop serious coin.  This bought me some time. 

What do I think?  I love it.  It has an N wirless connetion card so my signal is stronger then ever.  It still has a 160gb of C drive space.  It weights 1.1 kg.  Best of all they didn't put windows 7 starter on her its instead Windows XP Home....  Windows 7 Starter is so limited you can't even change the background!  I've been on all night and download videos is a breeze.  I'm sold this is the best computer I have ever had!

I have an Eee PC too and I love it.  We have 3 computers in the house, but I use this one almost exclusively. It's also great for travel.  Doesn't take up much room. Another cool thing is I use the webcam and Skype to talk to a co-worker who lives in Ireland, which is awesome.  It's portable, lightweight, full size keys, and long battery life. Best of all, CHEAP.  I did buy a external cd burner for it, but I never use it.  However, I do use a retractable mouse that I plug in to one of the 3 usb ports. 

I am looking at purchasing a net card so I can access the 3G network.  But, for now, I'm really happy with mine.  smile

Wifey has it and loves it... do maximize the RAM coz it is a bit slow and use something like Avast (not a resource hogging antivirus)... That particular model has a six cell battery, just a tad heavier but worth it for the battery life.... Way better option than iPad IMHO......
