Re: Just seen on Twitter - RIP Joe's #52 LP :(

I know it can be done, and I've heard that the headstocks are stronger after this happens but he'll always know.  I wonder if they will fix that neck or send it to gibson to steam off the old one and put a new neck on.

Re: Just seen on Twitter - RIP Joe's #52 LP :(

Yes #52 is his favorite that he put cream plastic on. It was used in the studio for BOJH. I hear there is a team of Gibson surgeons dispatched to reatach the I assume the headstock. I saw Peter Greens guitar at The Dallas Guitar Show a couple of years ago and it had a reatached headstock very poorly done but it still fetched around a million dollars when it sold. I think it still had a bit of mojo unaffected by the detachment. I am guessing it will live to wail again.

By the way it is the one played on Sloe Gin and The Great Flood on the RAH DVD

It's not just Delta... You probably all know this one but just in case...

Re: Just seen on Twitter - RIP Joe's #52 LP :(

Joe showed me the damage to #52, he explained that something heavy had been loaded on top of the case and the initial impact of the object pressed down on the neck at the nut and cracked the join to the headstock. To my eyes the damage didn't look too bad and he said that he has a guy that can repair it in San Diego I think but he said it will never be the same. It was made worse by the fact that this was one of the Albert Hall guitars which he cherised.

Aw man thats not good news at all sad. I don't know what I'd do if this happened to one of my guitars never mind my JBLP.

It would near be worth booking an extra seat and buckling the guitar into the seat beside you tongue.

Hope it can be repaired smile
