Deezer's was silly, but I actually believed this one.

Damn.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

He is as long as its not modern Fender who did him wrong.  Look at how many Vintage Fenders hes got you can't tell me he doesn't at least grin a little when he picks up the boat neck Strat!

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

You know what they say..."One you go Gibson...ya never go back" Joe, my Gibson did'nt get enough time w/ you before the Eugene show. BTW, Battle Axe's name is "Josephine". Named after both my mom and my my wife. One gave me life and the other one saved my life. In case you forgot when you asked,...she was a 1980 Professional 335-s Deluxe...Before the change. When you look at pix of it online, it's the Silverburst. Been playing the crap out of it since you told me to. 1-2 daily and up to 3 1/2 adventures 'til carpletunnel set in. Using your picks 1/2 the time. Sustain that would make Carlos Santana impatient.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

This is somewhat legit... look up some interviews and he says he'd love to break out the bass boat strat from the R&R Hall of Fame.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

Joe might consider playing Fenders again, then he won’t care if they get broken by the airlines.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

no need to go back to fender. gibson has it all.  smile

Wouldn't quite say that, Gibson are slowly but surely slipping.
Henry has recently come into more trouble. Bit of a dictator it seems.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

Gibsons are in no way slipping. They are fantastic guitars. I would have no problem picking up any gibson guitar and playing a show with it.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

I'm gonna sit on the fence here and go PRS, the best parts of both guitars and that lovely in between scale! Not to mention the tasty tops!

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

Some of the worst guitars I've played have been Gibsons. My No1 is a Gibson. But I feel I lucked out.
7th most hated company in the USA apparently.

PRS makes great guitars. I was weary of their SE models, but even those feel nice. PRS is an american guitar company I'd love to own, but would have to pass over a Gibson to purchase due to cost.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

Joe played a couple of Fenders on Black Rock.  But he's explained why he prefers Gibsons.  He likes tones that wrap around your head, not ice-picks it.

Nic...may just be due to my proximity to Stevensville, MD (location of PRS factory) but I see nice ones come up in the Baltimore/DC Craigslists quite often for under $2K.    I have a '96 quilted 10-top Custom 22 that is an amazing guitar.  It's not a Strat or a Les Paul, but they are things of beauty.  My co-guitarist in my band has a 90's CE which is really nice and an SE Soapbar II which is a suprisingly good guitar for what he paid (around $400 I think).

May not make me the most popular guy on the board, but I think they're great guitars....ask Dr. Dave, he has some really nice ones.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

NO doubt PRS is great.  SC245 is baically an attempt to show Gibson Custom Shop how to make a 59' Les Paul reissue... 3 to 4 grand less on top of that.

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

I still say Joe's tone on the Rockpalast DVD with a strat is some of my favorite guitar tone ever...that being said, his tone with the LP on the same DVD is pretty fantastic.  I play both and I love them both.  They serve the purpose...

Re: Joe's going back to the fender strat !!!

HAAA!!  Here is a little trivia for you guys and gals.  I played one Fender Stratocaster in 2009.  Can you name the show and the song..?
