Topic: Hello from Tunbridge Wells, England!!

Hey everyone, my name is Carrie Ann, and I just wanted to introduce myself!!

I have been a fan for quite a few years and have seen him in concert many times, but I must say that winning tickets to the Planet Rock gig in February has been one of the biggest highlights so far - wow o wow!  And, I never win ANYTHING!!

I am sure everyone is listening to Black Rock now...enjoy!  Is anyone going to High Voltage or the North Sea Jazz festivals this year?

Roll on Hammersmith Apollo in May - see you at the front!!

Re: Hello from Tunbridge Wells, England!!

Hey Bella, I'm not too far down the road up in North Kent (near Brands Hatch race circuit) and hopefully should be going to High Voltage in July (at least thats the plan still need to buy the tickets haha).

Good to see more Bonamaniacs from Kent on here.

If you are into blues you should check out The Mick Jagger Center @ Dartford website as last week I purchased tickets to Buddy Whittington in May and Walter Trout + Support for Halloween. 17 FOR Buddy and £20 for Mr Trout so a pretty good result, think Paul Jones' Blues Band is also on towards the latter half of the year.

Also keep an eye on The Stag Theater in Sevenoaks (Rock Plaza or whatever else the ycall the different rooms/events), Trout is playing there as well, and in September so is Robin Trower. It has also had or will have concerts by Albert Lee, The Strawbs, Nine Below Zero (I think), Fairport Convention, Rick Wakeman and another of the forums faves Oli Brown (last December - was gutted to miss him)

Hope you enjoy the stay, the forum is full of great peeps.

Red Dragon,

Fortunately there are lots of "Bonamaniacs" in Tunbridge Wells!!

Thanks for the info re: gigs to keep an eye out for - very much appreciated.  Do you know if Joe is playing on the Sat or Sun at High Voltage??

Also, I am debating about going to the Jazz Cafe in May as I am desperate to see Joanne Shaw Taylor (via the "New Generation Blues Tour with Oli Brown & Virgil and the Accelerators") - man oh man, so many gigs, so little time!

Welcome aboard Carrie Ann!  The newbies just a keep on coming and we love to hear from you.

Hammersmith is only a couple of months away now.  Very exciting!  Hope to meet you there although you won't see me at the front coz this time I'm going for the easy option of a comfortable seat!

Re: Hello from Tunbridge Wells, England!!

Hi LynB,

Great to hear from you - hope to see you at the gig too!  I am having Joe "gig" withdrawals at the moment as I, erm, over-indulged over the last year or so!!  Oh well...at least I have Bad Company and a few other concerts to keep me quiet until Hammersmith!

Are you going to any of the other UK dates?

Hi Brack from North London!

My first exposure is not very original....quite simply heard You Upset Me Baby in the car....and have been hooked on the music ever since.

My other half has been a fan since he saw the Jane Pauley "Beginnings" profile - ha!  Oops, apparently, it was the "Opening Shot" profile.

Re: Hello from Tunbridge Wells, England!!

G'day Carrie Ann.  I spent a few months working in Tunbridge Wells, living in Lamberhurst, a few years back.  Pretty part of the world.  Joe's just done his first gigs in Australia and I was privileged to witness his Melbourne debut which was simply outstanding.  He was supported by Joanne Shaw Taylor!  See the Melbourne post under Show Reviews for more.  cool

Hi PeterC,

Wow - it is a small world!  I am originally from Oklahoma in the States, but I have lived here for twelve years - lovely!

Glad you enjoyed the gig - the experience gets better and better!!

I am so jealous that you saw Joanne Shaw Taylor...but I am due to see her in May, thank goodness!!
