Topic: Hi all

After years listenig to many different types of music, something really stroke me last summer. I was invited by some friends to the Notodden Blues Festival here in Norway. A lot of top performers like Jack Bruce, Robin Trowers, Buddy Guy and Beth Hart. Even if these gigs was great, nothing could compare to Joe. The music and the way he presented it, was just awsome. It just got into my head and heart, stayed there and has been there since.

Since then the surroundings has been vacuumed for all JB CD's and DVD's and the rest of my music collection (over 1000 albums) has been on vacation. A day without listening to Joe is a bad day. It has even inspired me to pick up guitar playing again after a break for over 20 years.

At the moment i'm looking forward to the uppcoming concert in Oslo at  the 25 of May.

Welcome in the club.
You forgot to mention Björn Berge.
Saw him last year in Germany and really enjoyed his live performance.
Wasn't so sure about his voice before the gig, but live his voice and his powerful playing were absolute perfect and he's a phantastic guitarist.

Wish you a lot of fun here in the forum

Re: Hi all

Hi there!

Sadly I has not been able to hear Bjørn Berge live (yet), but i know him as a great acoustic player. He did also have a set at the Notodden Blues Festival last year, but this is a big event with a lot of paralell sessions, so I wasn't able to catch them all.

I read an interview with Joe in a Norwegian blues magazine, where he did a comments on Bjørn Berge (which he obviously know about), quote: "I'm not close to do what Bjøren does"! ... What a modest and humble guy! After all Joe's acoustic set was given top scores.
