One weekend down, Two to go. Fabulous tourney so far(except for the Big East) and my Syracuse team looks good so far, especially without our starting center. Looking foward to Thursday and Butler. GO ORANGE

With Kansas gone I'd have to say the title is Kentucky's to lose. The two stud freshmen are no longer freshmen, but youth could be their achilles heel. Look for Syracuse playin' them in the final and it could be memorable.
Oh yeah, go Buckeyes, Spartans and Boilers! Too bad Hummel's out cause I think Purdue could've beaten the Cats, Cats, Cats.

Stu, the first time you barked at me, I was clueless, but before your repeat performance, I realized your team mascot is the Huskies, which makes me think of UConn from the Big East. I haven't seen your team play, but beware of Da'Sean, Missouri and a few other great players from WVirginia, smart coach as well in crucial moments.
jdawg- The St. Mary's player I was so impressed with is Omar, couldn't remember his name. You may enjoy this article, the dude is as graceful as a ballerina on the court, but listen to this, he has the word "BEAST" tatooed on his inner lower lip and his mom told him to win 2 games and she'd see him in Houston. Omar is a media hound, has a blog...I hope St. Mary's meets up with Duke and stomps on them like 'Nova did last year by 20 plus points, that would be SWEET! I do respect Coach K, just not a Duke fan.

I've watched enough basketball to let my girly-girl side emerge and if I were to vote on the best dressed coach, Jay Wright would win hands down, the man had to be a male model for suits in his former life. I'd like to see Jay move back into a 2 button suit jacket, if he ever wanted my opinion. This is a funny take from '08 on what these guys would be doing if they weren't coaches...note the verbiage above the photo and disregard any trash talk.

Well my-oh-my. San Diego's Lady Aztecs are in the sweet 16! Cinderella, put on that gown.
At what point do upsets become inspired play? Showing the men how it is done.

It's Omar Samhan Angela and he & the media guys have a loving relationship as they enjoy interviewing him as much as he likes it. Side bar story on the sportstalk station today, a kid from Moraga called in to tell how his dad left his wallet in a restaraunt in Moraga. He called as soon as he realized it was missing, but nobody could locate it. A day later he gets a call from a guy saying he found the wallet and wanted to return it. They arranged to meet and the dad says whats your name and how will I recognize you and the response was I'm Omar and I'll be the 7 foot tall guy. Honest too.
Go Gaels!!!

Condolences to Stu & Uncleraven.

Don't forget me! Aaarrgh! I hate being a #1 seed. EVER. Better to be #20-25 in regular season and about #5-9 in a NCAA Tournament Division Bracket. Going with Baylor here on out.

Ok, all the pullers for the men's teams that have gone down in flames. Time to give a cheer for my ladies. Aztecs vs Duke today. Still alive.
Rick.
Condolences to Stu & Uncleraven.
Go Buckeyes & Gaels,
J Dawg
Thanks
Next year we only lose 1 starter, so maybe we can make another run at it. In the interim it's almost time for Spring football. Jake Locker may be in the running for the Heisman
Go Dawgs

Baylor squished St Mary's like a bug. You may have something there...
Rocket, I'm with you about the seed theory.
Stu, you have something to look forward to if you are a baseball fan, I'll be thinking of you all summer, especially when Cliff Lee steps on the mound. I'm heartbroken over the loss of Lee and hated the way the whole trade went down and now he's going to debut on the disabled list, I'm sad for Cliff.
Its time to pass condolences to jdawg, two of his teams went down yesterday. OUCH, dawg. I never would have predicted St. Mary's being trampled under foot like that... I can only think of this, too much from down under...

I saw some of the guys from this band with Ringo's all Star band a couple years back, they performed this song.
Rick- you're so sweet being a man for the ladies they have title 9 rights, but go very unrecognized in the scheme of things...
That was brutal, 2 favorites going down almost simultaneously. Last hope is WVU, my Dad's alma mater. Always have some props for his Mountaineers. Rest in peace Pop, I'll root for ya.
Think Green,
J Dawg
I'm not being sweet Angela, but thanks for the thought. These ladies can play! They run a two guard setup and both are seniors that can shoot and defend well. West Virginia's coach admitted the scheme was unsolvable for them. They run a fast, chancy game that may pay off, and has so far. They must quell the turnovers and stay out of foul trouble to win. Duke is a very good team, and a 2 seed against an 11. We'll see. Whatever happens, UConn looks like a lock.
You're looking good with Baylor Rocket.
Rick
Can't believe Butler just beat Kansas St. and this after beating Syracuse thursday. They'll have the home court advantage next week in Indianapolis. This could be the biggest underdog since Texas Western beat Kentucky with Pat Riley and Louis Dampier.
jdawg- You & Me have a music/sports, east/west coast connection. Besides W.Virginia being the last big east team standing, now I have another reason to root for them, in honor of your dad. Yesterday when I was running some errands, I stopped by a local hardware store that was selling spring pansies. When I went in to pay, the manager and I were talking and he tells me he's a Big East fan, but a W. Virg. fan for 2 years since his son goes there. He doesn't think the player with the broken foot is a big issue, since he sees him as inconsistent. Anyway, my daughter is winning her bracket at school and she has West Virginia going to the final four (I'll have you know a couple of guys were teasing her about her choice) and my hubby has W. Virg. going to the final. One of the keys to W. Virginia is they peaked at the right time! I saw the end of the Butler game (wow), but totally missed the W. Virginia game since I surprised my hubby with tickets to see JohnnyA. I remember your Rollie story...my hubby and son got to meet Rollie for the first time, when Villanova last played W. Virginia, who beat us in overtime by a basket, we beat them earlier in the season on their home court. This article was in the paper recently about how Rollie just can't retire.

I'm glad Kentucky lost, if even half is true of what Bobby Knight said about Coach Calapari transgressions as a coach...yeah, glad they lost.
Curby-that is a very interesting story. I looked it up for my own curiosity. Small school, low profile, Butler with the home court advantage, very cool for them.
