RS Guitarworks Vintage Stratocaster wiring kit.

I'm struggling a bit with this.  I just installed one and took my beloved Strat to a practice yesterday.  The Tone seems to be all or nothing when you turn the volume pot.  Its like it gives you all the volume up front and then the more you turn the volume the more distortion you get but the volume doesn't change in the slightest bit.  It act like a gibson which is ok I guess but does this sound right to you guys I know Vintage wiring is gibson wiring from the 50's and modern wiring is what fender has always done.  I've done Vintage.
