One time I drove there to get on a plane that connected to a plane in Charlotte and then went to Saint Louis, and ended in Denver Co. Round trip tickets where close to $100 less then if I had got on the same flight just out of Charlotte! Still hadn't figured that one out. Hope you enjoy the Queen City, airport at least.

Well enjoying the city was not really possible that night because of the torrential downpour and the fact that it was late. I never wanted to get back to Houston so quickly! But that said, I do love NC, and hope to visit again in sunnier days.
On a happy note, I was able to get a hold of the Carl Martin Plexitone and put it through my rig yesterday. I am extremely pleased with it. Especially how well the crunch channel simulates marshallesque nuances. And the boost for solos is great too. At first I thought that the presence of a single tone knob as opposed to dedicated bass and treble controls (why don't all pedal manufacturers add midrange controls?) like in the Budda Phatman would be a detriment. But it was not and the tone knob on the Plexitone is quite useful. I was still not sold however since I could get pretty close tonewise with the Budda pedal, so i put the Plexitone away. I was about to leave the studio when I remembered that I did not do one crucial test: the guitar volume knob test. Well, much to my surprise, the Carl Martin Plexitone shined in this category. Turning the guitar volume down I still kept the great aspects of a cleanish sound of a vintage blackface amp, while in the Budda there was major treble loss. The Plexitone has found a home on my pedal board and I am sending the Budda pedal away for a rest. I actually have two of those pedals and I may consider selling them and picking up another Plexitone just to have a spare.
