Hey Rusty,

Well, in a way I did. I did get the Epi Les Paul repaired by a local guitar shop and they did an excellent job. Nic (NPB_EST.1979) from the forum here even inspected it when he was over at my house and he thought it was a fine job too. "The One Who Must Be Obeyed" has sort of put the old kibosh on my guitar buying days; gee, and I really saw a beautiful acoustic/electric at a shop last week with Tom (RICjunkie) that I wanted to buy but didn't. Anyway, my son Ben has always been eyeing up the Les Paul and I've been eyeing up his PRS SE Singlecut, so after his guitar lesson last night I proposed we'd "trade" even up. He was pretty excited about that, so I think that's the way it will go. I use the word "trade" even though Ben is only 12 years old and I bought him both of his electric guitars. Of course, they are "HIS" guitars now.  wink  Funny how all things seem to work out, hey?  smile

A PRS for an Epi sounds like a good trade for me. When both parties are happy with - what more can you ask for? It's a cool thing that your son still likes the Epi although it's not in mint condition anymore. He did the "aging job" on it, it got repaired, he still wants to play it. The playability didn't suffer, the guitar just gained some character. Young guys often think that only new things are cool...

Interesting to observe how the G.A.S. always finds a way. Let them put a ban on buying new guitars - we'll trade. Let them put a ban on trading - we'll build our own guitars. Let them put a ban on building our own guitars - don't know what we'll do (yet). wink

Got to say Rusty, that one is not a Roy original. I actually gleaned it off of one of the best and funniest Golf commentators who writes for Golf Magazine. His name is David Feherty and with each month's issue, I immediately turn to the last page in the magazine to read his column. Gosh, he cracks me up! Anyway, his exact phrase is, "She who must be obeyed", so I took a little liberty and made it my own.  wink  Not sure I've ever told anyone here that story.  smile
