Who is this Jimi Hendrix guy anyway....whats the big deal? Seriously......any new riffs would, of course, always be welcome, especially if the production is good.

Ha ha! LOL........ Liking it murfdog!  We will have to wait and see. Remember, it was recorded on equipment over 40 years old.

It's a fine line to tread....... to stay as close to the original as possible, but increase the sound quality. You lose something, but you also gain something!

So what if one person thinks it sounds like box-set bonus material. As anything Hendrix did was way beyond whatever anyone else was doing at the time, it's got to be worthy of consideration. Certainly the tracks 'Sunshine Of Your Love', 'Hear My Train A Coming', 'Fire' and 'Stone Free' that I've heard on Planet Rock sound pretty amazing to me and make me want to hear more. I believe Planet Rock is going to be featuring this CD quite heavily during the next couple of weeks.

I think it's pretty evident you don't welcome this release and before you produce yet another negative take I wish you'd keep it to yourself.  I think most people here can decide for themselves is the album's worthy or not and don't need some obscure rag to make the decision for them.

Over the years there have been many examples of critics panning bands or CDs, whereas the fans loved them and they went to be major successes. I'm sure we can all think of a few.

Ok I am a total Jimi nut I bought this new Cd & Vinyl(5000 copys made) version along with the rare 45 single...the single has a B side which is not on the album or cd....Finally a studio version of "Hear my train a Comin'"....This Cd is so good-the wait was worth it......Jimi sounds great and to think this music is over 40years old.........Jimi still is the King....:)

I picked the album up tuesday and was somewhat surprised how well the songs sound.  It's not every day a legend gets an encore forty years later.  I look at the album as simply a gift.  Interestingly the best song on the album other than the title cut is the fine cover of Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love"...makes me feel like a kid again.
