March Madness getting close!!! (Page 1 of 5)

Uncleraven, I was just thinking of you, even before your Orangemen made history at my Wildcats expense!!    I was worried about this game 6 weeks ago.  (The Wildcats need to play defense or they are going nowhere, also someone needs to be consistent besides Scottie Reynolds.)  Honestly, for the last 2 months I've been saying, no doubt, SYRACUSE is the best team in the Big East!!  What a spectacle this weekend with kids camping out in the snow and selling historic number of tickets.  One of my son's friends is a freshmen at Syracuse and for safety reasons they moved the kids inside the arena and cranked up the heat to get some of the snow off the dome...they were severely sweating, it was near 80 degrees inside.  We saw his friend on tv which was cool.  How about that dude running around the stadium...the dome ranger!!!  Syracuse should be proud, what athletic history you guys made!!

Good luck to your team, if my team can't get it done, I hope its yours.  I always root for another Big East team...

The only thing we've got going locally is San Diego State. They are in the running for an at-large berth but I,m not holding my breath. If, by chance they do make it, they are first round fodder IMHO.

This year's tournament will probably see more than the usual number of upsets.  Syracuse, Nova, Kentucky, Kansas and Duke will be the favorites, but not one of those teams are unbeatable.

"   ahsmith...how true, but yesterday was really unusual, the Phillies beat the Yankees and it seemed way too early for baseball since there is still snow on the ground.  Next year I'm hoping to go to spring training in Clearwater.

Curby- I agree 100% with your statement. There have been some upsets already with these teams that seem unexplainable, like how did they beat them... I know this seems strange, but I prefer when my team is ranked lower and climbs than ranked higher and drops off.  I think one of my favorite games this season was Louisville vs. 'Nova in Kentucky; Louisville had the whole stadium in a white out and the coach Rick Pitino looked like he just stepped out of Saturday Night Fever.  http://thatfan.com/2010/01/12/rick-piti … -out-game/

unclearaven-I was trying to find a link from Sports Illustrated about Syracuse getting a #1 for the 2009 season with that amazing 6 overtime game at Madison Square Garden last year...I'm sure you still think of that game!!   

Not one Pac 10 team is ranked currently, beware of the sleeping dog. This conference dropped off the map this season, but not out of sight. Cal earned it's first conference title or share of, since the 59-60 season and have Mike Montgomery at the helm who has been to the Final Four with Stanford. Of course I'll be following the Buckeyes, but would love to see the Golden Bears upset somebodies dance card. Wouldn't mind seeing them get a rematch with the Terps either.
