Topic: My Epi LP is now '59 specs

Not sure how many of you care, haha, but today I took a peek inside my Epi LP only to be disgusted by the terrible wiring job that Epiphone did at the asian factory...ok, maybe it wasn't that bad, but I wanted to clean it up and try something different. So, I spent the day wiring it to '59 specs and boy does it sound better. Much brighter and defined...excellent for those EJ chords tongue

anywho, I'll see if I can get some full bore soundclips up tomorrow or something...I just though I'd share this with those gearheads out there who like to tinker about with their equipment.

So its alway weird to me how people say that the 50's wiring or vintage wiring is based off of how Gibson wires their guitars volume, and modern is basically 50's wiring from Fender that has never changed.  Gibson USA now only does Modern wiring I believe.  Still they were both around back in the 50's so whats the difference?  Other then tone of course. 

I have my Les Paul Classic wired vintage as you do most likly.  I just like it.  Here is another mod you could do if you like tinkering.  I took the Bridge pickups magnet out of it and flipped it over so that the poles are opposite of the other pickup.  Now you get that Peter Green tone on the inbetween setting.  I tried to reverse it but I didn't marke the magnet so I could't figure out how to change it back, but I found that setting very strange for a Les paul.  I disliked it but my friends love it.  They tell me that the voice of that guitar is wild and twangy.
