Women's Ice Hockey Final: Canada 2 - 0 USA

Hosts Canada secured their eighth gold medal of the games with a memorable 2 - 0 win over the USA in the final.

Marie-Phillip Poulin scored both goals. The Canadian goaltender, Shannon Szabados made 28 saves.

Nordic Combined The US finally broke the dominance of Scandinavia and Europe by taking Gold/Silver in the event after a ten year effort at improving the team. Demong took the first ever US Gold with Spillane close behind for Silver. Austria's Gruber won Bronze.

Wow was that a shellacking the US laid on the Finns! It got ugly after a while as the shocked Finnish team had a few members resort to cheap shots in retaliation, (they will receive payback when they return to NHL ice!) Tomorrow night's game will be epic as the US and Canada meet again. This is the the USA's chance at Olympic Gold on the 50th anniversary of the last Gold they won by stunning the Czech team 9-4 after the "miracle on ice" win over Russia. Hockey fans the world over are licking their chops at the game to come. Olympic ticket scalpers will be ready to clean up!

That was a great game. What hockey can be at its best. Too bad there had to be a loser. The morning TV said that the scalpers were getting  $20K Canadian for tickets to the game yesterday! Nice markup.  mad

Very cool moment.  Solo, just the man, his acoustic and harmonica and a couple of those amps the musicians use to hear themselves.  Perfect song for the moment.

I've gone back and watched reruns of a lot of Olympic stuff online.  I'm sure you can find it somewhere.
