New Young Guitar Heroes Tour

There’s a rival to the New Generation Blues tour happening this April with the New Young Guitar Heroes Tour.

This will feature Scott McKeon, Mitch Laddie and Stefan Shil

Dates include:

Monday 12th April - The Cluny Newcastle
Friday 16th April - The Borderline London
Saturday 17th April - The Boardwalk Sheffield

More tour dates to come.

Here is a sample of Stefan Schill.......

Re: New Young Guitar Heroes Tour

Seeing guys like Stefan Schill warms my heart & gives me hope for the future of blues-rock. We just need more kids in the U.S. to show the same kind of interest that the kids in Europe are showing. Unfortunately, if you go to a forum like Guitar World, you would think that the only music out there is Atreyu & Cannibal Corpse.

Re: New Young Guitar Heroes Tour

Are you going to the Borderline show eldo? If so I may well join you - sounds interesting. What about you Wooders?

Re: New Young Guitar Heroes Tour

the youtube vids of Stefan Schill are great! I'd love to see them cross the pond. They'd be great opening up for Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam!

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

It's kind of strange.. because kids in europe show more interest in blues, but those european guitar players are mostly influenced by north-american guitar legends (specially SRV, something that i always critize) rather than european legends.

Re: New Young Guitar Heroes Tour

Yes but you would still say the same thing about whoever they were influenced by. Everyone is influenced by someone and it will show in the younger years. The fact that these guys are out and touring at such a young age should be applauded.

Re: New Young Guitar Heroes Tour

It should be an interesting tour, not on the level of the New Blues Generation tour, but still pretty good. Stefan Schill does look good doesn't he?

It is normal that most young European blues guitar players are drawn to North American acts as it is generally perceived that the origins of the music comes from North America. As Martin says it's great there are so many coming through. I don't hear about so many in the USA so maybe in time the US guitarist will be more inspired by the ones in Europe.... Joe certainly was.

Tripod I'm sure one European guitarist that would interest you is Henrik Frieschlader. His biggest influence is Gary Moore and Peter Green is another notable influence. Check out the thread on him close to this one.

i totally agree with you.

greenrose: i'll check him up. thanks!...  apart from being a crazy gary moore fan, i also like british blues more than north american blues.

Re: New Young Guitar Heroes Tour

And lets not forget Scott McKeon, as seen here supporting Joe at the RAH - well worth checking out at the intimate Borderline venue..... http://www.youtube.com/watch#playnext=1 … -1ri6uqxBs
