Topic: Joe's Planet Rock gig at the Gibson Rooms London, February 16 2010

Eventually - can you imaginehow frustrated I've been the last couple of days with no broadband link?  mad

What a great evening this was - I had unfettered SLR access all night long, but just couldn't watch the whole gig through the viewfinder. I mean, how often to you get to see the master at work at a distance of four feet?

Anyway - heres a start http://www.flickr.com/photos/42034502@N … 5181/show/

I'll get some more up tomorrow (with some familiar faces too!)

Re: Joe's Planet Rock gig at the Gibson Rooms London, February 16 2010

Very nice job Icon. Nothing like front row distance. I'm amazed you shot as much as you did. From watching the videos, it seems like the whole crowd was mesmerized. No bobbing heads, no moving bodies. Looked like a bunch of zombies.
I can relate to the broadband drought. My office is at the end of the cable and some days it seems more like a can and string connection. I broke down and purchased a cell BB as a backup when needed. $50/month and $100 for the usb hardware. Gets me 250kb/s and has international roaming. Worth it. Especially on business road trips with the laptop.

These are beautiful.  I love the close-up one of Joe playing slide.  What were you using for a lens?  Looking forward to more.

Carmine looks a little different!

More great pics, Ian.  big_smile  Looks like your position to the side was even better than mine. Of course, your extra height helps.  lol

Re: Joe's Planet Rock gig at the Gibson Rooms London, February 16 2010

and new shades from Mr B?

Great to see the event although I am concerned about the zips on the waistcoat though... they could do a lot of damage to the back of the guitar's... tongue

Nice pics Ian.

It makes you think just how much we rely on computers, and BB, when they go down. The feeling of being cut off, really focuses the mind!
