Topic: David Grissom's 10,00 Feet
I somehow overlooked this Feb. '09 release and was pleasantly surprised how good it is. I loved him in Storyville and his first solo release, but feel this album's his best effort. Grissom, known for the great tone he gets on his signature Paul Reed Smith guitar has carefully blended an album of rock, country and blues. Stepping out of the shadow of prior vocalists, Grissom demonstrates a strong vocal ability here and the songwriting is outstanding. He's supported on the album by Chris Layton and Kenny Aronoff on drums, Warren Hood on fiddle, Carolyn Wonderland on background vocals, Michael Ramos on Keyboards and Scott Nelson on bass.
I couldn't find a sample off the album, but found this jam by Mr. Grissom. Sorry for the graphics at the beginning...
