Interesting article. Jeff speaks frankly about his life and career.

Re: Jeff Beck

Thanks for posting the article about this unique guitar virtuoso.
I've seen Jeff Beck last year with his last band: Tal Wilkenfield (bass), Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), Jason Rebello (drums). I stood there eyes and mouth wide open. It was a mind-blowing concert. There are some tears in my eyes that Tal isn't in the band anymore, even though I'm pretty sure that the new band members are also great players.

I'm really looking forward to that gig on 19 July in Bonn with Jeff Beck and his new band and of course another very special band ... lol

Re: Jeff Beck

Hi, glad you liked it. The Madison Square Garden concert in New York with Clapton was reviewed and said that Beck sparkled and Clapton was poor in comparison. Very little interaction between them on stage together. The review was subtly brutal to Clapton!

edit. as the article says, Jeff likes to mix it up with musicians and changes band members often. Seems he gets bored easily.

Re: Jeff Beck

I've seen those videos online, and I thought Clapton was equally good. He still sounds and plays great. People are just Clapton-haters.

I can´t really imagine that you can get bored about Tal Wilkenfield. On the other side: the article I read about the NY concert described Jeff Beck´s band as much more alive and creative in comparison with Clapton´s. They would have preferred Beck´s band doing the backing for the common part of the concert.

Guenter, You and I would never get bored just looking at Tal.  tongue  It seems to me that it was just time for her to move on in her career. Jeff gave her a big break and some fabulous exposure.

With Beck and Clapton on the stage together, I would have to take Beck. Just a lot more there at this stage in their lives. Not to diss Clapton but Beck is still climbing that ladder. Of course, we haven't heard that concert so it just may have been an off night for Clapton.
