Re: Eric Sardinas

Here I go again! What a showman. I have never seen anybody get as many different sounds out of a resonator!! Hints of Hendrix to Robert Johnson. I wondered what he would be like after JST's warm up wallop, but man, it was ramped higher! The first thoughts were wild, wild west meets Mississippi  big_smile  Such energy. He often pranced and stomped his own percussion, singing without a mic, wrenching each note from somewhere deep inside.
It's the end of his tour as evidenced by the electrical tape wound around his fingers in a futile attempt to stave off the wear and tear.  He's off to Europe next. Go see him!!!! I'm happy to report he's also a heck of a nice guy! Truly thankful for praise and, like he said during the show, very aware of the bond music creates for us all!
After the last two snow storms, my spirit needed a boost only live music could provide!   Cathy

So glad you got to see him live Cathy. You get your money's worth with Eric. Delta on fire is the way I saw him. I made a post a few months ago and you reinforce it. For those that haven't, make it a point to see him.  What was his set list? Was he backed by Big Motor?
Rick
edit. Reading your post made me remember a High Sierra festival where he had 3000 plus people whooping and dancing in 5 minutes after John Hooker Jr. had lulled us into drowsiness.  tongue

Nice one! I bet she was pleased with that!  smile

Well, they are so contrasting because Cathy doesn´t have her hat (from Hot August Festival) on.

Re: Eric Sardinas

Yes Guenter!! My hat would have been perfect. My hair was similar when it was long too! Duncan, the thrill for me was he said "If you were any cooler, you'd explode". I think it's because I said "resonator" and he got a kick out of it! At any rate, for now, I'm cool..hehe
Here's the jam with JST from the other night, thanks to Vortex (Roy)

Good stuff Cathy, thanks for sharing the clip.  smile

Glad to see Eric shaved off his beard. I think he looks better with just the soul patch under his lip.  Always great music though!

Just listening to JST's "White Sugar" at work. Gosh, that's what I call a great album!  wink

Roy:  Sorry I couldn't make this show, but my GF did....any chance you could hook me up with a copy of your audio once you get it done?  I'd really appreciate it!

Hope to see you at a show soon!

Yeah, the beard is gone.

Re: Eric Sardinas

I couldn't leave without a few words here.

WOW. All the above superlatives are spot on. The things he does on that beat up old dobro, the variety of his playing, the energy, the strength of his voice without a mic, the fact that he does a whole show while chewing gum!  big_smile

And, he's ambidextrous too, plays right and signs left. The pic I got signed for Cathy is, of course, the pic on this thread.

Ok, now I'm crippled....night all.

Re: Eric Sardinas

Caught Eric and Big Motor this past July 31st at the Prairie Dog Blues Festival. For your viewing enjoyment, here's a few songs that I was able to capture on video:

"I'm Worried" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WO8FUyZbRvE

"Down To Whiskey" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwsS9x3OKxs

"Hellhound On My Trail"  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oReA749grI

"Bullfrog Blues" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxEW6AhZcTA

"Down In The Bottom" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMbdsPRL9vc

The crowd was wild even though this was very late at night after a long day of music. Of course, Eric and Big Motor tend to make people a bit wild! wink

Enjoy,

Roy
