Topic: Joe Satriani

I've been meaning to post this for a while.

Just before Christmas I was talking to a colleague at work who's husband is a huge Joe Satriani fan.

She told me that her husband had recently won a competition to fly to the USA and have a one to one guitar lesson with Joe.

I will let you know how it went

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Re: Joe Satriani

Man that is awesome!
I like his video lessons, but a one to one guitar lesson must be incredible!
Satriani is a really nice guy. I met him at the Musikmesse Frankfurt.

Re: Joe Satriani

Yeah, does sound good. I would like to know more about what this prize consists of.
Is the prize for two..Yes/No ? Paid return flights..Yes/No ? Paid hotel(*** Star Min) accommodation.. with food and beverages thrown in... Yes/No ?

A lesson ... how long will the lesson be ? What will it consist of ?

Transport requirements fully paid for, ie, Taxi's, car hire..ect Yes/No ?

Before i went, i would want to know all these important questions. Wouldn't you ?

If all the questions i have raised are, YES! Then, I would be jumping for joy! Yes, that would be a prize worth taking!

Have I left anything out ladies ? ( always ask the ladies, it's just polite.)

Experience Hendrix Tribute Tour
Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas
March 6, 2010
8:00 PM

Experience Hendrix, the fourth edition of the biennial concert tour that features an all-star line up of music greats paying homage to the music and legacy of Jimi Hendrix gets underway in early March of next year with special performances across the country.

Featured artists who will be performing music written and inspired by Jimi Hendrix include some of the best known and most respected artists in contemporary rock and blues including Joe Satriani, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brad Whitford (of Aerosmith), Doyle Bramhall II, Ernie Isley, Living Colour, Double Trouble’s Chris Layton, along with bassist Billy Cox, and David Hidalgo & Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos. Cox, who first befriended Hendrix when the two were in the 101st Airborne Division of U.S. Army, played in both the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys and performed with Hendrix at such landmark festivals as Woodstock and the Isle of Wight. Cox commented, "It's a thrill for me to play Jimi's music for audiences now as it was in the 1960s. The Experience Hendrix tours have shown how timeless this music really is." Joe Satriani remarked, "I finally get to pay tribute to my hero the right way, on stage with an amazing, once in a lifetime, line up of musicians!"

Re: Joe Satriani

I got to meet Joe at a private demonstration for his new amp.Only 100 people were supposed to be there but there was at least 200 more outside who couldn't get in. Joe was really cool. He signed, took pictures, and took time with everyone. He was supposed to only stay 2 hours but ended up staying about 4. He didn't leave until everybody got their autograph. He couldn't have been nicer.

Re: Joe Satriani

i've been lucky enough to see Satch in Dublin twice once on his own and also with a few other players, some of his tone left me drooling.
