Re: The NFL - National Football League

I rarely check in on off topics but i figured thered have to be a football thread.  im with rocket there.  all my focus is on the game.  well actually ill be eating a lot and having a few beers but not getting intoxicated.  no party as all the time i end up at one it is a bunch of non football fans getting drunk and talking about how they love to watch the commercials mad

long time colts fan here, lucky enough to go to the game against the pats this year (though i don't know if there is much luck involved in paying a hundred bucks for a thirty five dollar face ticket).

anyway, don't see what the saints can do to stop them.  only way i can see the saints winning is getting multiple freak occurrence touchdowns like several giant runs and a few kick returns.   colts offense looks to have a better chance at scoring on the saints d than the other way around.

colts 34, saints 20

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Has anyone a link for a web stream so I can enjoy the game ? For the three past years, we could see it on a French tv, but it looks like they've decided not to show it this year sad

Take your pick from any number on this page - http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?match … art=sports

- but if you're not a regular user you'll have to install extra software to see most of these - I suggest tvants, Streamtorrent and Veetle, they seem to have the best quality.

Alas, due to my new job, I'll be fast asleep when the game kicks off. I'll be tivoing and trying to avoid all sources of information till I get home after work - or I might have to watch on ff before i leave in the morning. tongue

I'm pulling for the Colts due to the 'family' connection. I think it'll be pretty close with plenty of scoring, but take Peyton to show (yet again) just how unbelievably good he is. cool

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Thanks! Unfortunately, tvants and streamtorrent don't exist for Mac, and the Veetle website is closed until the game is over sad

I'll see if there's a useable "media player" stream wink

So nice to see Peyton be a non-winner.

Congrats to the Saints - love those underdogs!

That's why I don't actually wager any real dollars.  I would have lost money on this, but I'm really glad for the team and the city.

Yessir G Dawg it was a well deserved first. Payton was spectacular, Shaun Payton that is, some gutsy calls, but cool under pressure. It's like they heard the Who singin', Who Are You @ the half. I had a gut feeling about these guys at about week 10. Last season they made a statement and picked up where they left off this year all the way to Miami and VICTORY! Congrats Rockfarmer, DAYS A FIYO ON D BIYO!!!

When Porter caught his take away...

I was pulling for the Saints and MsTia was rooting for the Colts.

She said That's it.  We're done and I said don't count ol Manning out in a reversal of roles.

But she knew!

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I thought it was a great superbowl and I just knew the Saints were gonna' win!!  I was being hassled by males that I was rooting for the Saints for non-football reasons....liking Drew Brees for the circumstances of how he even arrived in New Orleans, the fact that he's considered short for a quarterback, team was the underdog or the whole Katrina thing.  If we all didn't FEEL something, we would even watch sports???  Men????

Was that the cutest damn thing you ever saw, Drew holding his baby with the headphones on at the end?  I love Sean Payton, he takes risks, realizes he has to change things up and really cares and shows it, I remember watching him earlier in the season running down the sideline happy about a play...all of which just reminded me how much my Eagles need change.  (plug in that expression, expecting different results when you're doing the same thing)

The new Colts coach, nice guy, calm & very well spoken, but because Peyton really runs the show and calls his plays...the coach looks like a man without a country on the sideline, I never saw a coach so expressionless, I don't recall Dungy being like that, it just struck me as so odd.  The Colts had a couple of bad plays that were costly and their defense let Manning down, but I thought Peyton lost his cool under the pressure and he is one of the most outstanding quarterbacks of all time, I have nothing but respect for him.

The road to March Madness is really heating up!!  smile

I have grumbled about Miami not snatchin him up since...

Kid was overwhelmed to say the least, but certainly curiously taking it all in! IF he follows into Papa's profession, who's to say he can't handle crowds at the big one (except dear old Dad). I (as usual) avoided the halftime shenangians, even if it involved Wholiveagains.  Anyone want to make any comments about the "fix", seeing the irony of The WHODAT playing at the halftime show????? tongue
