No RPIC, I haven't heard of it. Good read? Looking for something to pass the time in your neighborhood before the SFO gig. We're doing Calistoga, then across to Mendocino for some vino and fun. Have to please the wife since she puts up with this obsession.

I´m reading it in the moment (it´s Eva´s copy): it is well written and you get a lot of informations. Last week I´ve got my Japanese Led Zeppelin Box (all CDs with original LP covers) and it´s fun to listen again to all this wonderful music and read what he´s writing about it.

I've read this. It's a great insight into a bunch of complex characters. What I found heartening though is that for all their on the road antics they appeared to be very much family orientated guys.
On the back of reading this, I went out and bought Truth by the Jeff Beck Group (it's mentioned in the context of LedZep1) and then realised it's one of Joe's favourite albums.
Have to please the wife since she puts up with this obsession.

Oh my God, we are in the same boat. She (as I'm sure yours) is a SAINT and its not just the JB obsession but music in general.
When your trip gets closer, the few of us up this way will have to steer you in the right direction. Sooooo many killer wineries to visit.
Oh, yes, IMO the book is a great read.

Guenter- I know what your talking about. I'm back on a total Zep kick right now.
I mentioned this book in another old thread about great books on music.
I read it about half a year ago and really thought it was a well-written and gripping book, I nearly read it like a novel. Zeppelin is one of THE bands for me, so I might not be the most objective person to ask about this topic, but I would totally recommend the book.
I was a bit dubious at first wether I´d like the "new journalism" style parts of the book (the ones that start with "You are Jimmy Page..."), but as annoying as this type of writing CAN be, I found it wasn´t in this book. I did like the "normal" parts of it better, but it was a nice style element that fitted into the context of the book.
I listened to some of the songs differently after reading the book and it made me listen more closely sometimes.
Did I mention that Jimmy Page is God before?
I think I did ....
