Yup, that would be the one.  I bet Fender is kicking themselves now.  Besides John Mayer, I cannot think of another younger generation guitarist that has made people want to go out and buy a Strat.  Joe would have been a great artist and deserved a JB model IMO.  That's all old news now and Joe is happy with his Gibsons/Ernie Balls!

KWS Stratocaster???  They are pretty good for a made in Mexico Strat.  Other then him I don't think they make any right now.  They had that one from the jerk in Blink 182 for a while but I don't think they do that one anymore.

Re: Joes Gold Sparkle Custom Shop Strat

I'm not going to hate on KWS, but most of the guys who are KWS fans are SRV fans and would likely just spring for a '62 RI or a SRV signature Strat.  I like how the KWS is a budget signature model though.  It seems that only the Yngwie, SRV, Jeff Beck, and Clapton models have the staying power.

Re: Joes Gold Sparkle Custom Shop Strat

I knew somebody with an SRV strat, and I've played the KWS strat. The SRV strat has a VERY comfortably shaped neck. In contrast, the KWS strat has one of the biggest baseball necks I've ever felt on a solidbody electric. The neck on those things are uncomfortably large. There's a big difference.

^ Yeh the SRV strat has an amazing profile... its a pretty spectacular guitar to play.. haven't tried the KWS one though

Re: Joes Gold Sparkle Custom Shop Strat

I gotta say...that is a cool looking guitar.

People should just start calling it the Joe Bonamassa signature guitar, just to give credit where credit is due.
