Topic: Metro Amp Superlead 100 has LANDED!!!

New Amp Day!!! YAY!!!!  Finally, after months of work and patience my Metro Superlead 100 is fully assembled.  I cannot believe how loud this amp is, it's truely frightening!  I'd like to just give my pops a shoutout if he's reading because he was a great help.  I would have never of finished this thing without his masterful help.  If any of you guys are in the market for an old plexi, you MUST stop by George's site to check these things out.  The tone is unbelievable...vintage, responsive, and 100% authentic sounding vintage Marshall.  The amp sustains incredibly at any volume (loud, louder, and loudest) and has surpisingly remarkable clean tones.  Much more versatile than I could have imagined.

Of course clips will be forthcoming.....keep your eyes peeled for the next couple of days. cool

I will be looking forward to your sound clips.  They always sound great. I admire you and your father for being able to put one of these together.  I am sure it was not an easy task, but probably enjoyable and greatly satisfying.  Did you put one of their effects loops in it?

It was challenging, but my dad is really handy with stuff like this.  He's like a homing missile, when he locks on it just gets done right.  There is no effects loop at all, it's 100% bone stock.  The only thing I might add is the Lar/Mar PPIMV to it after it's broken in a bit.  With the Lar/Mar completely clockwise it's as if it's not even in the circuit.  It makes sense to have one just in case.  It's not like it couldn't be removed if needed! tongue

To Big Jeff Jones:  Yes!  I'm sure Ken's OD100 is PLENTY loud in it's own right.  Surprisingly, with a "Y" cable and the EQ set in Eric Johnson traditional fashion (presense off, treble 0-2, bass 2-3, mids 3-4, volume I-7, volume II-8 it's really not too loud.  I mean, it's LOUD but it's not unbearable.  I'm going to be picking up some hearing protection this weekend just in case!  I cannot wait to get some reverb/delay in front of this thing....CLIFFs OF DOVER, HERE I COME!

My bro just finished his Metro JTM 45. I'll post those if he ever records something. It's supposed to be killer too.

I'm a big fan of the Metro JTM45 kit.  That's what my dad built for himself and it turned out really well.  With his own tweaks and some NOS glass it has some real mojo going on.  It has just the right amount of compression and gain at the right volume.  It's pretty much the best all around Marshall for just about anyone IMO.  The Superlead is just a sick monster that only someone completely crazy would crank up in a house!  What a glorious sound though...
