Gibsons are great and it must be a tremendous honor to have your own signature Gibson. The ONLY difference that I see with Joe's model is that it was very limited edition. It seems that Gibson is very cautious about releasing permanent or mainstay signature models. Look at Fender, they have the Jeff Beck, Yngwie, Clapton, and SRV Strats in no short supply. Look at all of the phenoms on the Gibson side of things: Warren Haynes, Billy Gibbons, Joe Bonamassa, Slash (eh he's okay I guess ), Jimmy Page...the list goes on and on. All limited edition, nothing for the average musician only the collectors. No offense to Joe, because his signature is one of the more affordable ones but at $3500 + it's too much for my budget and is too much for me to feel comfortable gigging with. I would LOVE to see Joe get a signature model Ernie Ball. John Petrucci, Steve Morse, Albert Lee, and Steve Lukather all have killer signature models that are not limited edition and are reasonable. I find killer deals on used Petruccis and Morse models all the time...
