Re: Conspicuous by my absence

Dear Jeff,
I'm absolutely shocked to hear of your traumatic experience. I can't imagine the hell you've been through.
I'm also delighted that you have survived to tell the tale. I hope you made this post from a laptop whilst tucked up in bed. Eat, rest and recover buddy and I hope you'll be back to your usual funky self before long.

Much love and hugs.....Tripsy x

I'm awake again!  All here are too kind.  Don't let my grousing about 2-3 outa 10 nurses be mistaken for a lack of sobbing gratitude.  One of my mates across the state said if there is a man I know who would survive that it would be Big Jeff.

Re: Conspicuous by my absence

As everyone has said, that was one heck of a close call. It was scary just reading it, so I can only imagine what it must have been like for Ms Tia.

Time and sleep is a great healer. Take your time, Big Guy, we're all rooting for you. wink

Just read your story Jeff and what a **## it all must have been for you and your beloved!

So glad you made it. Take your time to recover, health is the most important thing in life my friend.
Great your back on the forum so quickly because the forum isn't the same without you. You can't be missed!!!!

Re: Conspicuous by my absence

Thank goodness it was a brain issue big_smile With a head as hard as yours, they probably had to use the extra strong saw. And, what a great excuse for any bad behavior over the last years. You can say "Sorry, it was the brain tumor".  As for bad nurses..yes they're out there. I never understand why certain people pick nursing and yet don't like people. Please report them (or her). It's the only way Supervisors know about that kind poor service. Do it for the next guy who isn't as..um...outspoken as you. Seriously, as per our phone conversation, I, like many others, love you bunches and thank the Universe that you came through this ordeal. Now, do as you're told and heal!!! We're all here if you need anything.    Cathy

Re: Conspicuous by my absence

Jeff...absolutely stunned to hear of your ordeal and what you and your family have been through.
It sounds like the worst is over and I can only wish you the quickest of recoveries.
Even though we've never met face to face, I consider you like family, like most of the people here do.
Even when you disappear for a week or two, you are missed and this place is not the same without you!
Get rest, get well, get back here when you're feeling up to it.

In view of what you told me last night I have to question the wisdom of sharing those pics with the world. roll

Re: Conspicuous by my absence

Jeff -- I was shocked and scared when I heard what happened. But when George said you were already joking again lying in your hospital bed talking on the phone to Cathy I thought "well, this is the legendary Big Jeff as we all know and love him..." - and I can´t say how happy and relieved I am to hear that all went well in the end and your brain works just as well and produces just as many crazy thoughts as it did before.
It takes more to knock out a guy like Big Jeff Jones.

We´re happy & grateful to have you back Jeff - and promise to be nice to the nurses!!

Re: Conspicuous by my absence

Eva Darling!

Here's another little installment, as relayed to me by TB after my blood pressure went down a little bit:  While in the Detention Facility, she called the facility nurse to come check out the mute (me) because I was becoming erratic.  TB was holding on to me and touching my face/forehead trying to keep me calm when the nurse got to my office.

The nurse said, "What is this some kind of a Quality Assurance Test?"  What followed was 10 minutes of the most insipid and vapid prattle ever uttered, while the nurse explained there's nothing wrong, he doesn't talk to anyone.  She later admitted under question that just the week before we had talked about my high BP and subsequent headaches.

In the meantime however, TB called 911 Emergency and got them in there to take me out to the hospital.  As a crowd had gathered to watch the show, one of the assistant superintendents told TB that Mr Jones keys would have to stay with her.  Nobody has a key to any of my offices or IT rooms.

TB took my keys and shoved them into her pocket and said, "Jeff Jones doesn't turn in keys to anybody..." and they folded.  TB asked me, after relaying that story, what was that all about.  Tia said That biatch would have let him die just to have his office.  There's a history there.  Ironic because I outrank all of them.

So fast forward to the emergency room where the admitting clerk was postulating at great length about what kind of criminal I was...untill she saw my badge.  Then stunned silence.  Then to TB:

Are you Mrs Jones?  No Here comes Mrs Jones now.  Tia was in scrubs, so they said "Oh you're a nurse."  No I'm a wife.  Where is Jeff Jones and why haven't you initiated treatment?"  OH they said Are you authorizing treatment?

Good idea she said.

That wore me out, telling that.

Re: Conspicuous by my absence

Hey Jeff, this story gets more bizarre the more I hear it. Are you sure this was a hospital you were at? Sounds more to me like a mortician's office. Did these nurses actually go to college or did they just pluck them from some women's prison and put white uniforms on them? yikes Geesh! I'd be afraid to go there even if I had the flu!
