Topic: Early Lizzy.......one for Tripod

Big fave of mine from early Lizzy days was their last studio album as 3 piece with Eric Bell on guitar - "Vagabonds of the Western World". Chock full it is of great songs and solo's by the a.m. Mr Bell, not least the savage "The Rocker".

I've wanted to cover "Slow Blues" off the album for some time so in looking for some other versions I found this:-

Great thing about Philo was he would change lyrics and entries at the drop of a hat from the original and this is no exception. Apparently it was BBC sessions for John Peel's show in early '74 just after Bell had left the band. I'm sure he would have done a grand job, but the bloke making it his own is Gary Moore.

Blinding outro, and a great version overall. Lynott. Why'd he have to go and leave us?
