Topic: Any new blackstar amps planned?

Is it just me or does anyone else reaally want blackstar to come up with a series one somewhere between 5 and 45 watts? I'd get the s1 45 but its just too expensive.

Re: Any new blackstar amps planned?

The Blackstar Series One 45 has what they are calling a DPR knob.  It is basically a power reduction knob allowing you to set the amps power ANYWHERE between 4.5w & 45w.

Great review of the amp in the latest Guitar Player Mag. I've read other reviews also that rave about these.

Re: Any new blackstar amps planned?

HRJ- This might help if your still looking at these. It explains the DPR knob  was talking about.

Completing the tonal feature set is the DPR system. DPR reduces the power of the output stage from full power (45W) down to 10% (4.5W) and any power output in between. This means that the full tonal depth of the EL34 power amplifier can be enjoyed at any volume, making the S1-45 ideal for recording, smaller gigs and even home practice use. Working in conjunction with the power amplifier voltages, this method of power reduction suffers none of the loss in tone of other power reduction systems.

Re: Any new blackstar amps planned?

Sounds like it could be really great, but $1,800 is too rich for my broke blood.   If someone takes the plunge, please post a reivew/YouTube clips?

Re: Any new blackstar amps planned?

Blackstar will be launching a new HT-series of amps at NAMM. The HT stage series I think. I did a quick search on google and there are a few new models. An HT-20 head and combo. HT-60 and HT-100. There is a demo on youtube of the HT-60.
