So, you guys like the Baffles even when NOT mic'ing the Amp? I'm talking about at a gig, etc. Because I have been wanting to build some. And if they work live with an un-mic'd cab, that gives me even more reason to.
When using baffles with miced up cabs, the people in front won't get overwhelmed by your guitarsound blasting out of your cab and you can get the best out of your tube amp with higher volumes. The sound engineer has an easier job because there's less noise on stage and because of that you'll propably be hearing your monitor mix clearer and better too. Other than that, I see no benefit's for using a baffle without micing the amps through PA. It's like putting a massive wall right in front of your cab, makes no sense to me. Where should the sound go? But he, maybe I'm wrong, I've no experience with it.
