Topic: Blues Forums...

Hi there. I'm rather new to this whole blues scene, despite being brought up listening to Trouty, Mayall and the like (and ofc, Joe) .... I'm loving this forum so far (learning so much, so many names  to explore!) and wondered what other forums you're all part of and post on?

Re: Blues Forums...

The Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam forum is a good one as well

I think all of us here agree that this is just about the best one wink cool

Re: Blues Forums...

That is not to cast any aspersions on other Blues blogs, but just that this is the only one I feel at home in big_smile

Re: Blues Forums...

I've become a member of a few other forums relating to a specific artist or group, but this is the only one I post anything on now. The only other one that I thought was good (and posted on) was the Clapton forum, but it requires paying a membership fee.

I'm also a member of a forum devoted to the Bayfront Blues Festival in Duluth, MN, but I'm an infrequent poster there.

i am more a rock fan than blues fan but am interested in the blues. many of the purists though kind of scare me off or tick me off. i have learned alot here though about blues

Traumatic!? Crikey what did they do!?

Re: Blues Forums...

Re: Blues Forums...

I am registered at the Derek Trucks Forum: there I have one post, here more than 600 - and it´s not because I don´t appreciate Derek very much.

For me it was a great experience, first in London, then at our America trip when virtual people turn into real people. Especially if there is no disappointment included.

Re: Blues Forums...

OK - I'll chime in.

I'm a part of the Kenny Wayne Shepherd one, and also the Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam one.
Both of those forums used to be "hoppin" ... but I don't frequent them as much as I used to.

this forum is definitely where it's at. And I'm not just saying that!
cool

Re: Blues Forums...

I'm on a couple of other forums:

Aynsley Lister's forum, where most of the conversation is about modern British blues/blues rock acts:
http://www.aynsleylister.co.uk/forums/

and The Blindman Blues Forum. It is a more traditional blues forum, and most of the members are not too keen on blues rock, but you can learn a lot from them: http://blindman.15.forumer.com

"The recently formed Edinburgh Blues Club has identified an appetite for the personal communication between musicians and audience that the blues long ago perfected." The Herald Newspaper (Scotland)

Re: Blues Forums...

This is the one and only. The forum regulars here are so knowledgeable and willing to share; be it technical gear talk or giving heads up on emerging artists. I likely would not be clued in on about half of my favorite artists had I not read about them in this forum.

Plus as Guenter has mentioned, these are some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet face to face. I've met about 40 or so members in person and they have all been fantastic.  More of the magic of Joe in action.
