Topic: Apologies

In regard to some of my recent posts, I find it necessary for me to apologise for my behaviour and attitude towards some of the forum members and musicians I 'targeted'. It's not right of me to do so, and what impression does it bring upon me to do it? Not a very good one, and who am I to be saying things like that anyway.
I know that I can't always be right, and can be very excessive and unknowledgable at times, and can ensure you all that such behaviour won't come over me again. This forum is a wonderful place, and kids like me should'nt cause situations to become argumentative and heated as they can do.
Once again, I'm truly apologetic for my poor manners and behaviour, and hope next year I can turn a new leaf.

Even though it is completely un-necessary.  You've done nothing wrong.  Try to understand that some of us (Me) have seen it all and sometimes appear jaded.  Plenty of the older forum members here often disagree...even with me. smile

I come by my opinions honestly...by experience.  While it is right that you can and should learn from some of us all you can, your opinion is welcome.  Having lived, played & died on the road, my experience is different than many here.  You will not be shunned and should not be discouraged if some old grouch gives you a little dose of opinion that seems harsh.

I actually think even more of you than before.  Once again I recognize you.  Respect given and returned.

I am with Jeff.  COMPLETELY unnecessary.  But much respect gained.  I for one understand excitement, but I get quite crotchety over some "little things", sometimes with little or no self-control exercised.   So, I also can be a harsh and cantankerous ol' grouch too.  And no shame about it. Out in the real world I am as mellow as a cello.  Mostly.  But still disagreeable as an option.
But we ain't bullies.  We're lovers.  Who sometimes have to fight for our right to par......take...or not, when it comes to sharing opinions.  All it is. Don't be afraid to be yourself, even if it's vastly different.  And we don't be messin' with the kid, just to mess with him, either.  smile We've had some "kids" grow up here, they'll tell you don't sweat it, stick it out and stick around and stick your neck out too.
We all do it. It's a fun place, even at the worst, the smoke clears and folks are shaking hands pretty much.
You are starting to make some good friends Russ. Don't worry, be happy! So, let's go! And remember...

Rus, enthusiasm is hard to avoid when it comes to Joe. I try to take the high road when it comes to criticism of musicians. After all, who am I to criticize? I'm lucky to hit 3 chords before hitting an off note so I really don't qualify as a peer. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes and I accept other musicians for what they bring to the table. Just the fact that Joe does the whole package better than anyone else doesn't mean that everyone else needs to be trashed.
