Topic: MultiTrack Recording Help!
Hey everyone! I'm looking at, along with going out and playing with others as I've said in my other thread, getting a basic recording system some time in the not-extreme-distant future. I'd love to be able to get a nice recording of my playing, and possibly my crap lyrics and drum playing. I have been researching, and the Tascam 2488 Neo seems to be a pretty featureful unit. 8 Simultaneous recording inputs, 24 tracks, etc. Before I take the plunge and get a recording system though, I want to get as many opinions as I can. First, has anyone had any experience with this unit? Is it worth it, or is it a pile o' crap? Also, does anybody else have any other suggestions for fairly priced units that would be better than this? I saw the Korg D-888 and it also looks pretty sweet. I really have not found any *actual* reviews that really tell the strengths and pitfalls of these two units. Hopefully somebody on these boards has experience with this type of stuff! I am really looking at the stand alone recorders, simply because I think it would feel a bit more intuitive than plugging into the computer. 8 Simultaneous inputs is really one of the main things I'm looking at, so if need be I could record Drum Set, Guitar, Vocals, Bass all at the same time in one take. Thanks for reading, any pointers or experiences appreciated!
