Topic: Is 'It's a Wonderful Life' the greatest Christmas movie ever?

No doubt for me. Just watched it again, for at least the 20th time in my life, and for the 20th time I couldn't stay dry at the final scene. Now that is what I call movie magic.

I would have to agree George, the best Christmas movie of all time and actually, one of the best movies ever. A story that we can all take to heart.....be happy and enjoy what and who you have in life. For if it weren't for Family and Friends, we all would have nothing.

Careful G Dawg, you'll shoot your eye out! I'm partial to A Christmas Story since it was filmed in Cleveland, Ohio and brings back childhood memories of Christmas. We had breakfast and saw Santa at Higbees dept. store every year.

Serious Christmas movie? Yes.

But my all-time favorite is Elf. Just for these quotes:

"SANTA!!!!!! I know him!"

"You sit on a throne of lies."

"Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?"

"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make"

Hi Deezer,

Couldn't agree more, it's one of our favourite Christmas films big_smile

"The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear"

"Why don't you just say it? I'm the worst toy-maker in the world. I'm a Cotton-Headed Ninnymuggins!"

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

George, I'm amazed. Only 20 times? Nah du hast recht. I don't even bother to hide it anymore like I did when I was a kid. When all those people start coming in at the end with money - it just cracks me up. So uplifting. I feel refreshed afterwards and it makes me feel that it truly is better to give than receive. I have a special edition version which I shall watch again with my Ma on Xmas day along with 'A Christmas Carol'.

Here's looking forward to a white christmas. Merry Xmas everybody!

Agree entirely, Mike. I have the special 'colored' version too, but have always felt that somehow this movie is supposed to be in b&w.

Nice to see the poll running at more or less 70-30! cool
