Topic: Any New Year's plans?

I have nothing to do yet for new years. Is there anything going on?
I'm up for seeing a concert somewhere... Let me know what's going on, and where!

World War III in the Turkish sector in Berlin.

They set off so many fireworks, half the city is engulfed in a pall of smoke! cool

And maybe some music in a seedy dive. Rick

my resolutions remain the same BUT THIS YEAR I WILL DO THEM!
Including learning to play guitar.

You know how to reach me Jane....but you probably should spring for a REAL teacher, after I try to show you a few of the basics.

Re: Any New Year's plans?

I was thinking about flying out to Philadelphia to see Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam perform at the World Cafe. My wife even gave me her blessing, but she did have that look in here eye, you guys know that look! yikes Also, for one night at a hotel and airfare it would cost about $450 which isn't cheap. Thinking.....

Most likely, I'll just stay home and grill out something tasty to eat like a good prime rib roast and then add a good bottle of red wine. wink

Re: Any New Year's plans?

For next year...

6/3 Aynsley Lister
8/3 Lynyrd Skynyrd
19/3 Paloma Faith
29/5 Joe Bonamassa

So far so good.

Jeez, seen some acts this year - top of the pile has to be Joe at RAH, Skynyrd at the Apollo Manchester and Paloma Faith at the Liverpool Academy. Low points - (disappointments) Little Feat at Liverpool Academy and Eric Clapton at the Echo Arena. Lots of others inbetween. 'twas a good year for live music. And a dream diving holiday in Truk Lagoon and the Philippeans, plus plenty of diving in the UK. Next big dive trip will hopefully be to dive on the President Coolidge which sank on Santos in Vanuatu, but that will be Feb 2011. Big UK dive will be to Skye Western Scotland in 2010.

Re: Any New Year's plans?

My girlfriend Karen & I met at a Tommy Castro show last July and we have tix to see Tommy on NYE @ the Mystic Theater in Petaluma, Ca. This is the only place we could possibly want to be to ring in the new year. Sorry JB, but Tommy wins this round on sentimental value. A Joe gig would be the next choice, maybe next year.

Still thinking about it Nic and still got to double check clearance for take off. No, not the "Take Off" as in airplane, "Take Off" as in it's OK with the boss to leave the homestead! wink

Re: Any New Year's plans?

Well, I'll be hitting the big 50 towards the end of next year. I don't know of any plans by my family, but I would like to visit
the States and take in the music over there. Maybe Nashville.
Any ideas or advice.

Apart from that, see as many live acts as possible over here.
