Re: Tiger Woods, any opinions?
ESPN, Fox, & CNN are reporting that Elin Nordegren is now leading the PGA money list after beating the number one golfer. The number one golfer inadvertently played the wrong hole.

I found this gem from Sunday's Houston game. http://picasaweb.google.com/Elexmage/My … 6497018882
What Tiger did was not right. Anybody with half a brain knows that. But what makes me really upset is that we can't have stars anymore. Remember those? Think about if Rock Hudson had been a star in today's media? A couple of cronies beating up a photographer who had evidence of his homosexuality would not have been able to keep it quiet. I truly believe that in some cases that ignorance is bliss. Are we really better off knowing that Tiger slept with all of those women? Are we better off knowing Alex Rodriguez used HGH? Are we really better off knowing John Kennedy was a womanizer? No, we're not. Because it takes away from they did in their chosen profession. Is that siding on Tiger's side? No, not really, but sometimes, SOMETIMES, ignorance is bliss. What he did does not leave me any less in amazement of his accomplishments on the golf course. It does not change how groundbreaking he truly is/was/has been. And it will not leave me in less amazement when he resumes that march towards history. But what this does make me realize (and I guess I've realized this all along) that no one here knows how they'll be when they have that much power, that much wealth, that much control over everything around them. Nobody here has been in his situation where he was basically told how great he was since he was 5 years old. Does that make him right. Of course not. But it means I will not judge him until I've experienced that situation. And I don't see myself being in that situation anytime soon.
I pray that Joe never makes it to that level of celebrity. He will be scrutinized to the point where anything he does will be twisted. Every skeleton in his closet will come out, and he'll have to answer to it. I pray that he never becomes that famous. One mistake, and it will be for everyone to see.
Who is Tiger Woods and why should I care???;);)

That's how I feel about Jackson Browne and the wifebeating thing. And tons of other musicians with various personal problems and/or bizarre lifestyles, but I'm using Jackson as an example since that subject came up here recently (and soon after disappeared). I mean these things are gonna get reported, no stopping it... I just don't let it take away from what they did in their chosen profession, or let it influence the way the MUSIC affects ME. Just saying......
(I am not a sports person and have no interest in golf or Tiger whatsoever... I'm just trying to apply this to something I can relate to.)

Well, at least he has falsified the old joke about a man asking another: "Do you play golf?", the other answering:" No, I still have an active sex life".

Günter, you're killing me here! Have you been talking to Dawn?
Hey, wait a minute, I hardly played any golf this year and I still don't have an active sex life. What does that mean?

i think it should not be news.
there is real news that the public should know about.let your local media outlets know that you disapprove of the attention this is getting while the world goe..........mumble
Well said Jane! Far more important things going on! Like the Climate Conference in Copenhagen. Will the US sign up this time ????
~ Brack ~
Good point Brack, the summit in Copenhagen deserves far more importance than this. If you value you future generations, put pressure on your leaders to make the hard choice!

I agree guys. Maybe you should start a separate topic discussing Global Warming/Climate Change? Just an idea.....

A little too close to politics. If Joe wants to go there so be it. I will keep my mouth shut. You guys want to start a climate discussion here and I'm involved it might get heated. I suggest we don't go there here or in any other thread.
Yeah, Jim, I do think it would get a little "heated."
The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades......

From all I've heard in the news the past few days it seems Mrs. Woods is just about out the door. As if all this domestic upheaval isn't enough the feds are trying to link Tiger to a Canadian Dr. that treated Tiger who's been caught at the border packing illegal steroids. Apparently the feds have had their eye on the Dr. for months. On a positive note the Associated Press named Tiger athlete of the decade. Kind of like a lovely parting gift for losing on Jeapordy. Did integrety ever really exist?????????

I'm sick of this story. I personally don't care who's s-c-r-e-w-i-n-g who, as long as it's not me!! He's not one of our moral leaders. He's a golfer. Cathy
BAH!
Climate change??? I understand the temperature rose dramatically at the Cypress Air counter.....
:D
Saw a blurb on ESPN at the airport about Elin filing for divorce. Good for her.
I mean there are adulterers and then there are serial sl*ts.
And then there are Tigers in rut.
Hope she hooks up with someone who will be faithful.

How about we create a link to an off forum site where people could make charitable contributuons to their cause? Joe could even do a benefit concert!
