Topic: Tiger Woods, any opinions?

Well, unless you haven't watched TV, listened to the radio or read a newspaper recently, that would be about the only way you wouldn't know about Tiger Woods recent off course story. Anyone have anything to say about it, or shall we ignore this one?

I'll jump in.
It never ceases to amaze me that celebrities think that they are invisible when they cheat.
Tiger is probably one of the most prominent figures in the world. It is no secret that there are groupies who go after the rich and famous athletes and the list of the fallen is long. He was STUPID!

Re: Tiger Woods, any opinions?

The public and mainstream media will wait about 5 minutes until the next new and shiny scandal comes along, and no one will care. Whether you agree or disagree or think this is right or wrong, it's the truth. Does anyone remember Chris Brown and Rihanna? I rest my case.

Re: Tiger Woods, any opinions?

With all due respect I don't think it is for us to comment on. For most of us the only source of information is the media who, lets face it, are not exactly known for the 'accuracy' of their reporting methods.

Apart from that it has nothing to do with any of us; we are not family and as such it would just be salacious gossip on our part.

Are any of us really that 'pure' and 'innocent' of all things in every area of our lives; I don't think so. Just because some haven't committed adultery in 'fact', how many can honestly say that they have never looked at another with anything but the purest of thoughts?

It is too easy to get sanctimonious about someone else's life whilst forgetting to examine our own hmm

Thank you Romans.

Re: Tiger Woods, any opinions?

I'm not as honorable as Romans, nor do I think I'm perfect, but I'd be a hypocrite to deny that this has been a HOT topic around the water cooler at the office, even guys are surprised by Tiger's transgressions because of his whole faux image and I've always found life's ironies to be entertaining...so Romans, you better skip over my comments. wink

What us ladies agreed on: When Tiger starts to repair his image, he will probably admit to some afflication/diagnosis that needs counseling, beyond marriage counseling, one component could be a $ex addiction.  I hope he doesn't do one of those weepy public apologies like one of those evangelicals or politicians...I have sinned, blah, blah blah and beg for forgiveness...  I believe in forgiveness, but the most important part of that is between Tiger and his wife.

Interesting speculation from one of my guy friends...Tiger has really buffed up in recent years, hits the gym frequently etc. How about if he's taking something thats enhancing his ability to build muscle, which has increased his overall aggression (his little temper tantrums on the course) and increased his appetite...

In reality, I'm not sure how one can ever trust again when involved in a marriage to a serial cheater (alleged in Tiger's case) ... trust is such a very basic ingredient in a marriage...just my opinion.

I feel sorry for his wife and children and parents of both Tiger and Elin.  I realized that Tiger's wife and Reese Witherspoon's character in Legally blonde share the same nickname...El Woods...  I know I'll end up in Burning Hell for this, but if Elin hit Tiger with a golf club, I'm high-fiving that, even though its WRONG...you go girl! Also, I admired what the golfer that introduced them had to say and I agree with John Daly's comments...some of the professional golfer's comments are rooted in jealousy. Tiger has been more than good for the game of golf, I will never forget being meszmerized by his performance when he won his first green jacket.

The Rich Are Different.  It's none of our business.  The Divine MsTia started down this road at suppertime one night.  The conversation never even got past a few whatevers and who cares.  Even my daughter said "meh..." roll

If I was doing all that I would NOT be apologizing, especially at my age!

Re: Tiger Woods, any opinions?

The pre-nupt should of had a "an if you think I'm going to change my womanizing ways just because I married you then you need to re-think the whole marriage thing." What ever happened to the good old days when our hero's personal lives were kept off the front pages of the papers. I didn't need to know that John Kennedy and Bill Clinton were leachors they were damn good at what they did. Same with Tiger. His mistake was pissin the misses off enough to chase him down the driveway bustin windows out. I'm thinking it wasn't the first time she had caught him. He probably already promised to be a good boy. The rest of the golf community are probably getting their cell phone records checked now and they can thank Tiger for their wives suspicious minds.

Re: Tiger Woods, any opinions?

Something like 50% of all men cheat on their wives. He got caught. He had the world by it's (golf) balls and blew it.

He'll be back. He may not get $100 million worth of endorsements every year but I don't think he'll be selling his yacht anytime soon.

Ian, he was using a driver, but he kept straying "out of bounds" with it! wink

And Big Jeff, you're darn right I'm jealous of you! I wish I was tall like you instead of this 5 foot 9 inch tower of failing power that I am. lol But jealous of Tiger? NO!!!! Can you imagine having 14 or 15 women yelling at you all the time? Nope, one for me is just fine. smile

However just think, this guy has been dominating Golf for years now; he even won the U.S. Open on a bumb leg. And he did this all while having sex like a coyote in heat around the world!

I agree with Andre that it is totally their own business, but I do feel very sorry for his wife and children. A ruined family because of what he did is something that can't be excused lightly.

Re: Tiger Woods, any opinions?

I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments Roy. There are going to be scars and victims from his acts, and a ton of richer lawyers.

On the bright side, the comedians have gotten a wealth of material from this.

A local sportscaster said it right at the outset. "Tiger, better come clean because this story has legs."
