Topic: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

Hi all,

Well Joe played his first gig in corkcity last night and it was the first time he played  here.It was also the first tme ive ever seen joe play live and i was absolutely blown away by him and his band!!!!
They played thier hearts out and joe what an amazing performer.i was shocked at how bloody fantastic he is as a guitar player,he will definitley go down as one of the great performers and  think vocally he has an amazing voice.

I took a few pics and a few videos on my phone so will try to upload some later after work if i can.

Also joe mentioned when hes was young at the age of 6 his father sat him down one day and put on a video of the great and late Rory Gallagher live from cork opera hse and he said he knew this place when he walked into the venue lastnite for the first time.

Anyway joe if you read thanks thanks for a fantastic show.Im a fan for life................

Colin,Corkcity:)

Joe Live In Rotherham....not too long to go now !

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

I was at that show too. My first time seeing Joe live and he was amazing.

I went for dinner in a restaurant across from the venue before the concert and Joe was in there having some food and a chat with someone (couldnt see who as he has his back to me) I wanted to get a photo with Joe but i said i'd leave him alone at his meal. He was just wearing a regular navy hoodie etc.. Not all dressed in his stage gear.

Yeah, at the concert he told how his dad used rent the Rory Gallagher DVD live at the Cork Opera House and he used watch it and fiddle away on his guitar trying to be like Rory Gallagher. When he first walked into the Opera House then he was like "so this is the place i used watch Rory playing"

He then played Cradle Rock ( a great version) on a strat a little later on in the show. He said something about the guitar afterwards that i couldnt make out over the noise of the crowd, then when the noise quietened down he said with a big smile "Man, i have always wanted to do that"

I didnt catch any of it on video though and the couple of photos i took came out REALLY bad. I suck on the camera smile

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

Aw,i'm SURE someone'll  come up with the audio if not vid.Cradle Rock would be good!

Come on you Blades!

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

I wonder if he played his recently acquired Rory Gallagher Strat for Cradle Rock? That'd be one special performance!

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

I was at the Cork gig too - in Rory Gallagher's "home-town"

Great gig, Joe and the band were awesome (as a bass player, Carmine Rojas is a good incentive for me to start practising again!)

I had come across Joe on the Paul Jones blues show over the Internet, but my wife hadn't heard him before and she loved it too.

Didn't even try any photos on the camera, as my attempts at photos earlier this year at the Jeff Beck gig in Vicar Street and Chickenfoot in Cork came out rather ... errr... abstract!

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

Thanks for the reviews guys! Sounds like a wonderful night was had by all. Joe must have been soo chuffed to be playing on the same stage as Rory did. smile

Welcome to the forum Savo, Mattcolm and 70s_head.....glad to have you all on board.

SOMEONE has video...or at least some pictures of him playing that strat....  HOOK US ALL UP PaaaaLEASE!!!!   wink

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

It's a secret conspiracy - you know Joe is not supposed to be seen in public with one of THOSE guitars!  When people at that concert went to download their vids and photos to their computers there was a mysterious black void on their memory cards!

We're waiting!

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

There is video of every song from every show since youtube was created, but nothing from that show.  Joe probably banned cell phones and camera at that gig.  Its understandable Joes feelings for that company, but we know where he stands... so seeing him play cradle rock on one...  what could it hurt?  big_smile

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th

Sorry guys i went through the few short video clips i took at the gig last week and i never took one with Joe playing the strat for cradle rock.:(

Re: Cork Opera House Dec 9th
