I have a 4 EL84 head.  Don't know if your guitar is bassy or trebly, but suggest turning mids and highs up to 10, bass at least halfway, presence about halfway -- basically going for the fattest sound possible -- then fiddling with your guitar vol and tone knobs to get the Joe sound.  Remember, he does not play with the guitar vols and tones all the way up!
