I tried the DD3 last week with all the knobs on noon and I couldn't get the point!is joe's pedal a stock one because I couldn' get a satisfying tone I 'm loooking for joe 'pure tone on STOP or
how many roads and I ' m not satisfied with all may settings
could you give me some help?
What other gear are you using?
Are you using it in the loop?
Yes, he uses stock ones, because they might fail any time on the road and they are quick and easy to replace.
It is a lot to do with how you play remember - you've also got to get those power tubes humming away - master volume cranked.
Keep messing about with it and use your ears until you think you're close to the delay - don't forget the reverb too!
Other good delays to consider are the Line6 DL4 (modded is better), Carbon Copy and the T-Rex ones - especially the Replica.
Even if you are using a stock DD3 in the loop of one amp (all knobs at noon) I find that it's too much unless you "water it down" with another amp. I do that with my 2 amp rig and it sounds near perfect for my delay tastes. If I play my delay amp alone it sounds too spacey though.

I REALLY INTEND TO TRY A BLUESBRAKER WITH A TS9 TO GET THE RIGHT SOUND BUT I'M AFRAID IT PROVES TOO LOUD FOR THE LACK OF MASTER VOLUME

Try the delay through the loop, Joe never uses delay in front of the amp.
Yeah, I think the delay in front of the amp leads to uncontrollability and not a defined delay. You could experiment to try and get the dd3 to be more subtle or maybe have it modded?
Why not try a range of delays and see which one works for you and your setup.
Just turn the level down. Keep the others at noon and turn the level down until its the right amount of delay.
Make sure the delay is the last pedal in your chain.
If that doesnt work... Go buy a Vintage Echo from www.oceanefx.com
Maybe buy one anyway because they smoke a DD3 like a cheap cigar.
I have a question on the dd3....
Has anyone used the second output jack to a second amp? How well does it work? Does it suck tone when you do this? I am thinking about a fender amp to play along with my ac15 with both on all the time...I am thinking of doing through the dd3 instead of getting a aby pedal...

Try it... I have one and I dont recall it working for me. I cant recall why I didnt like it. If it doesnt work Get a whirlwind ABY they work great. And they are not expensive.
I use a Fender Twin and a Vox AC30 as my main working rig. They are kind of heavy so I bought a AC15 to use for church and smaller gigs. As soon as money allows I'd like to get a Fender Princeton or deluxe to make a smaller dual amp rig.
