Topic: AC/DC Collection

Just thought i'd let a few of the AC/DC fans here know that i've put some of my old vinyl collection up on ebay.
And to my total surprise from the attic to the internet there is quite a bit of interest
if anyone here is interested, let me know by Sunday
To view it go to  ebay.co.uk  click advanced search, then by seller, type in items2own click ....... which is Sharon's id ... and in amongst her madonna & michael jackson stuff, there's my AC/DC vinyl
sad to see it go but rather than let it fade and chuck away in 10 years or so, it will go to someone who wants it

Happy Viewing

Just out of interest...... why do you want to let go of your Vinyl ? I would never let mine go! It's a big part of my music collection ... and more!

You remember, Radio 1 DJ Mike Reed ?  He had to sell off his vast collection of records, just the other day. He had mounting debts to pay off. It was so sad to watch, people picking over what was left  ... in cardboard boxes. sad

I hope I never have to go through something that had to be so painful!
I felt for him!! sad

Re: AC/DC Collection

Brack .... Nice of you to notice, a few reasons for selling my rare AC/DC vinyl collection, it was stored in the loft/attic and was never gettin played as i've replaced all the buyable AC/DC stuff in CD format, apart from the rare old live bootlegs, plus it's a space thing too. in this modern day minimilist lounge/music room arrangement, i would never have put them on show, so as they we're on the brink of deteriorating i would see what interest would be gained on a lot sale ... well put it this way , there was ALOT of interest from worldwide, Brazil, USA, Australia, Japan ...... Sold everything that was Rare, was all snapped up, they are very collectable now as they're coming to the end of their career and they've just done a huge 2 year world tour
here's some of the stuff that went to genuine serious AC/DC collectors

High Voltage/Live Wire 7" UK 1976 Pic Sleeve .. £316 ($500) only a few made (much interest)
Rare Australian Boxset, first 6 Aus LP's + ultra rare 1 sided "cold hearted man" 12" £270
Oui Oui bootleg live in Paris '79  £50
Rare German Blue Vinyl bootleg #009 of 100. Bon Scott Rare live set 1978/79  £157
Albert Achives LP , with Ultra Rare "Rockin' in the Parlour" on compilation  £120

AC/DC Live in Europe on Highway to Hell tour in France white vinyl  £120
and various 7" vinyl singles and other Bootlegs sold in the region of £40 - £100
They all went to good AC/DC homes, they were all collectors

Thanks for that Michael. I know what you mean about storage! I have the same problem, but have resisted putting my collection in the loft.
One more question, why just AC/DC ? Or, are you starting at, A through to Z ?

I first saw them, back in 73, The Marquee Club, Wardour St, London...What a gig!! Been a fan ever since!

ps: liked your list! You will miss them!

Re: AC/DC Collection

There are only 2 artists that have literally blown me away thats AC/DC & Joe with their intense Rock Power performances on cd & live , and made me want to feel that in their live show time and time again for that pure music rush.
Thus consequently collect some items too, like a hobby, and still have some rare AC/DC framed stuff Signatures and photo's, Stevie Ray Vaughan would be the only other artist who has moved me, the guy was an absolute genius, performing and his cd's were awesome
by the way AC/DC's first performance in England was at The Red Cow Pub in Hammersmith London in early 1976 and they did not start their residency @ The Marquee club Wardour Street til later that year, i first caught them in 1977 @ Marquee , OMFG Wild Wild nights
cheers

Hi Michael, sounds like a great collection you had there, like Brack I find it hard to think you would part with them but I understand your reason.  AC/DC were one of the first bands I got into in the late 1980s, but it was not their music at that time (Blow Up Your Video), but their earlier work. A friend had lent me Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap and I was hooked.  That was the era of the casette tape and my tape of Powerage had the song Cold Hearted Man on it. It always frustrated me that such a good song was not on the CD version, and nor were songs like Crapsody In Blue (on vinyl and tape versions of Let There Be Rock but not CD). I had to buy a Russian compilation to get them on CD! There have just been released officially on the new release Backtracks for anyone that wants them.  Rockin' in the Parlour is still not out, that featured original singer Dave Evans, from 1974.
