Topic: Joe's Amp Cabinets

After meeting and seeing Joe on Thursday night in Leeds and re-watching the Royal Albert Hall dvd it looked to me that he is using new cabs, when I met Joe I didn't see his live rig up close due to a soundcheck going on and I was to overwhelmed to ask him at that moment in time anyway they appear to be different from his older ones that I saw in this article:

Are they the same speakers or totally different?
I thought that they might just be for the European leg of the tour i don't know though, any help would be great?

Thanks
Adam

Re: Joe's Amp Cabinets

Are they the Mojo cabs or Van Weelden?

Ah - they are the Van Weelden cabs for Europe I believe.

Whatever cabs he uses - always with the EVM 12L's.

Two 4x12 oversized cabs each split into virtual 2x12s (vertical) - each amp runs through one pair of speakers.

Awesome idea - amazing sound.

*off to buy some 12L's right now for my THD cab* cool

Good way to do it since he is driving in stereo. Inter cab baffle gives acoustic separation so you don't get phase pushing from coupled air mass in the cab. Makes perfect sense from an engineer's standpoint.
