Topic: Derek Trucks gets Grammy Nomination.

DTB's album "Already Free" just was nominated for "best contemporary blues album".  He is up against his wife's album in the same category oddly enough.  This is an amazing album that will hopefully win the grammy.

Had to check what the other ones were:

In the "Best Contemporary Blues Album" category, this year's nominees include Robert Cray's This Time; Ruthie Foster's The Truth According To Ruthie Foster; Mavis Staples' Live: Hope At The Hideout; Susan Tedeschi's Back To The River; and Derek Trucks' Already Free.

I'd certainly chose Trucks yet I bet they give it to Mavis Stapes seeing as she's being backed by a rock band. hmm

Separately, I wonder what the issue is with Rolling Stone not giving Joe any love?  Is it just because Joe doesn't play the big label/radio payola game or what?

Well deserved for the DTB - I hope either them or Susan win it. On my "personal Grammy list" for this year they´d be on places 3 ("Already free") and 5 ("Back to the river")...

Congratulations to Derek and his band for showing the world there is still good music out there.  This has become one of my all-time favorite albums!

As an aside, if anyone has any good pictures, old or new, of DTB they are looking for them to use in their upcoming live album.  Just go to their website for details.

Also - Libby - I think in honor of this achievement you should post that video I know you took at HAB of Joe and Derek!   Please!
