Awsome! Just brilliant. I paid about three times the cost of a ticket but it was well worth it.
I have never in my 59 yrs heard anyone play the guitar like Joe. It makes him a diamond above the rest.

Completely agree with you!

Well done Joe!

amazing show , got tickets the following day for nottingham.
what can i say his guitar playing warms up the coldest of nights. thanks joe ...

Hi
Was at the show too last night and boy did Joe rock the place or what, took brother in law, and nephew with me, along with the missus. Jaws dropped, brother in law even bought the dvd on the way out, converted or what.
This venue was really nice, we were sat downstairs on the left, did any one catch the name of the opening act, they were good too, considering it was their second gig.
Joe....... hope your going back for the Grolsch Blues Festival in Germany May 22/23 2010, as we will bee there again.
Now i need to get some more tickets for next years venues.................lol

Just found out it was Sandi Thom

i cant remember the whole set list, but stop,django,h.w.e,a.r.f.y had been dropped from the r.a.h set list and if heart aches were nickles, had to cry today, ball peened hammer, bridge to better days have been re-introduced.it was almost 2 hours of joe b at his absolute best.high light for me was,if heart aches and happier times.
last night i cracked double figures for seeing joe,and feel proud i have followed him round the block as he said in nottingham, from the runner to the concert hall.
i persuaded two mates to go last night for their first joe experience.i text one of them this morning and asked"well, good or bad?",the reply,"im completely stunned!"
enough said.
Just landed from being up in the clouds from seeing Joe at Nottingham t’other night. Boy what a concert ! one of Joes best for me ..though they are all so bloody good!! I was sat up in the rear balcony and thought the sound would be pants, but it was great!! Joe got some real Peter Green sounds out of his LP.......spookily close dude! The set list from what I can remember was same as Dave Wammbarro so well reported. Any one do a recording of Nottingham? I did and its fine except the fabulous acoustic “Woke up Dreaming” I messed up..........dorrr.....so any one out there got that track from Notts I can add to mine ? I was so annoyed with myself as it was one of the most furious “dreaming” versions I’ve seen Joe do.....gotta be 18 gauge strings on there!! Any one help? Thanks again Joe and team for such a GREAT gig......out into the cold did not matter, Joe had warmed me heart!!
I was there with Mrs Slikk last night, and can say that it was a most enjoyable concert (I'm the master of understatement).
Was only the second time of seeing Joe for me - first was in Sheffield this year - but I've booked tickets for Magna next year, and am taking the boy Slikk too.
Couldn't sleep last night for "Had to Cry Today" going through my head.
Thanks to Joe and the boys for a truly wonderfull night in Nottingham.
My wife and I really enjoyed the show, a cracking venue with excellent sound.
One of the best Joe shows I have seen, and I've been to a few, from New York (2003)
to RAH (2009).
Great to see so many new fans on the forum.

Nice presentation there buddy. Excellent! Glad you had a good time! More for me in Leeds tomorrow!
Thank you for the reviews. Very much looking forward to the Leeds gig tomorrow night. My Bona-brother John will be my with me again and having sat down at Sheffield earlier in the year it will be interesting to see him at an all standing gig again. I very strongly suspect this will be the last time he plays this sort of venue in my neck of the frozen north as arena sized audatoriums are the ones that Joe can now fill.
I will give you my thoughts on Friday 'till then..........
Nottingham 30th November 2009 – our second Joe experience in a whirlwind 48 hours, and the guy just doesn’t disappoint.
We found ourselves just five rows back from the stage with a great view, right in front of one of the speakers on the front of the stage that Joe seems to have taken a liking to standing on to “throw shapes” , so I figured we would be seeing lots of him this time.
We had seen Joe at the Llandudno gig on Saturday where we were invited into the BITS session and soundcheck, and got to have a few words afterwards and get some things signed. Mrs Icon was on a high for ages after that. But at Nottingham as Joe wound up his second number stage front and Mrs Icon leaped to her feet cheering, he looked straight at us and mouthed the word “hello” – she nearly fainted!
As always, Joe put on a super show, but he really seemed to be enjoying himself on this occasion, and that filtered through into his playing. The guy was just on fire.
The set list was the same as Llandudno (don’t worry Joe – I can’t pronounce it either) so I won’t repeat it here, but here’s my highlights:
As always, “So Many Roads” hit the spot – such a powerful slow blues in the way only Joe can convey – fantastic tone and phrasing.
My second live shot of “If Heartaches Were Nickels” for me was just wonderful – so glad Joe has put this back in the set. A great song that has long been a favourite of Mrs Icon.
Absolute highlight of the night was “Sloe Gin”. The newly extended intro to this really focuses the mind and draws you into this powerfully emotional song, coupled with soul rending soloing from Joe that really lays down the mood. Always leaves me wrecked (but in a cool way – if that’s possible).
Great sounds from the red MusicMan on “Bridge to Better Days” – again, another one I’m glad to see back, especially sounding that good. The same could be said of “Ball Peen Hammer” – the12 string neck on that twin necked MM monster sounds incredible, but that’s a hell of a lot of weight to carry round Joe when you’re only using half of it.
That bluest of JB blues songs “The Great Flood” hits me in the pit of my stomach every time I hear it these days, and this was no exception. This is just raw emotion with every note during the solo’s and having heard that Joe’s writings on TBOJH were driven by a broken relationship I wonder sometimes what Joe must be feeling when he plays this. Powerful stuff.
“Woke up Dreaming”? Hotter than ever!
And how could I not mention “Mountain Time” – truly one of the most uplifting songs I’ve ever heard – the perfect cure for all that blues.
Thanks for two great shows this week Joe – have a great break after the tour – you deserve it!
Ian
Has anyone got the full set list, I have most of the songs but not in the rightorder and I'm sure I'm missing a few!
Many thanks
Another fantastic performance, Its been such a long time from the RHA but well worth the wait. Highlights for me were last Kiss, heartaches for nickels,The great flood and of course Mountain Time!
See you again soon Joe you get better evry time.

Hi Terry, and welcome to the coolest place on the interweb!
The Nottingham setlist was the same as Llandudno - Follow this link http://www.jbonamassa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=12061
The main difference was that Joe can pronounce Nottingham
