Eric Clapton was supposed to play the Friday Night show but had some gawblader surgery instead.  I think Buddy Guy filled in his spot.

Sounds good, but we don't get HBO.

Actually it was Jeff Beck that was the replacement for Clapton. I caught parts of the special and have it DVR'd to watch in the future. The set lists as printed in Rolling Stone were a lot longer than what made it onto the tv. I noticed the free HBO on demand has it in 2 parts that equal an extra 15 minutes. Wondering if they added in any of the songs they took out or just extra credits and promos?

Thought Stevie Wonder doing Superstitious with Jeff Beck was fantastic.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Agreed Rev. Paul, that was fantastic and I think one of the high points of the show. smile I must say, Stephen Stills' voice wasn't too good, but Graham Nash and David Crosby still can really sing.

Saw all 4 hours of it. My highlights, Ray Davies singin' with Metallica, Paul Simon w/ Crosby & Nash doin' Here Comes The Sun, for George. The singer from Black Eyed Peas duet w/ Mick Jagger on Gimme Shelter(Good, but not exactly Tina Turner), Aretha & Annie Lennox and then like Shreddy I was fading and figured Springsteen would nod me right out, but NO!!!!! he brought out my boy John Fogerty to do Fortunate Son and then a great tribute to Roy Orbison on Pretty Woman. I don't understand why they omitted any sort of tribute to Southern Rock though. The line up was probably somebody at Rolling Stones idea like some of their "Best Lists".

Watching first half this eve. Classic! Those old guys and gals can still bring it. Loved Bonnie Raitt with CS&N. Still watching. If I nod off, always tomorrow for another replay. Thanks for the heads up.  Rick
