Topic: Derek Trucks Band Live/Not Live

The Derek Trucks Band plans a hiatus for 2010 meaning that they will not be performing live. The good news is that they plan also a "full length live album culled from one of the many scorching shows this summer". Maybe from Hot August Festival including Joe as "special special guest"??

Re: Derek Trucks Band Live/Not Live

That's very disappointing and also a coincidence as I was listening to Dereks' playing on Gov't Mule's Worried Down With The Blues on the way in to work this morning. I remembered seeing Derek (with currymandavid) in April this year and wondered if he'd be coming to Europe again next year.

Sad that we won't see him but next year, but I'm sure there'll be lots of other great gigs to occupy our time, especially in May. wink

I wonder what Derek will be doing with all that spare time? hmm

Re: Derek Trucks Band Live/Not Live

Derek does close to 300 shows a year with his band and The Allman Bros., not to mention Clapton in '06/07, and has kept that grueling tour schedule since the mid 90's when he was in his teens.  This will be a well deserved break for him, especially as a great chance to hang with his family.  I can't wait to hear the live record!

I guess he will meditate a lot to get a bit calmer.

Derek has alot of plans for his time away from touring. Derek & Susan will be doing some recording together, plus Derek has invited Sonny Landreth down to FL to due some recording too.At least that is what Derek told me.

Re: Derek Trucks Band Live/Not Live

Derek's one of the hardest working guys in the business and is fully entitled to his break. He's been touring everywhere so few can complain if they've not seen him.  Hopefully he will enjoy his time out with his young children. I 'm certain he'll be back better than ever before too long! smile
