Topic: TS9 SETTINGS TO GET JOE TONE

I NEED SOME HELP TO SET MY TS9 PROPERLY IN ORDER TO GET ROUGHLY THE SAME TONE AS JOE

I'M ONLY INTERESTED IN JOE 'S BLUES PURE TONE BETWEEN CLEAR AND DIRTY SOUND WITH PRESENCE WHAT

I'M LOOKING FOR FOR SEVERAL YEARS EVEN IF I THINK NOW THAT PURCHASING A BLUESBREAKER COMBO WILL

BE THE BEST SOLUTION BUT I HESITATE BECAUSE I 'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S PRETTY LOUD AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT

CAN BE PLAYED LOW IN A SMALL FLAT

I'D RATHER LIKE TO ACCOMODATE WITH MY PRESENT HK DUAL EL 84 WHICH IS A PRETTY GOOD ONE ET BESIDES

HAS A VERY GOOD SOUNDING FOR A LIGHT WEIGHT

Re: TS9 SETTINGS TO GET JOE TONE

Its going to be hard to nail a Joe Tone with a TS9 into a HK.  I have a TS9 and I dont use it for this purpose.
Your going to need a pedal with a tad more umph to it.  I really love the Plush drive from FUCHS.  Its under 200 dollars and sounds amazing thru my fenders and vox's.  Really has a powerfull tight organic sound.

If your looking for a JOE in BOX kind fo thing I really suggest you head down that path.

Otherwise Use you TS9, Put the volume on 3/4, the Tone on the middle to 3/4 depending on your taste and put the gain on 3/4.  That sound give you a great TS9 sound.

Good Luck.

Re: TS9 SETTINGS TO GET JOE TONE

I'd try the dirt channel on your amp with no boost on.  Keep the gain around noon and crank that master up.  Bass and mids up and treble backed down.  Start with minimal verb and work it in as needed.  You can either use your TS as a boost with the Level/ Gain ratio \/ or a smooth OD with the Level/ Gain ratio /\.  Tone to taste (I personally don't like it over noon, but experiment), tweak here or there and rock out.  Set your tone knob on your axe backed off about halfway or so.  Again all to taste.  This is just how I'd prob. start off.  I've never played one of these amps either so I'm kinda taking a wild guess here, but check it out.

LOL sorry for making it sound like a cooking recipe.

Hope it helps out man,
Ben
