Topic: A signed Gigliotti and a great concert

Another little story... thought to share this with you.
The last concert in Muenster was absolutely awesome.
I was invited for a meet and greet with Joe before the show (Thanks Jim!)
I asked to bring my Gigliotti GT for a signature. Problem with that was that the venue was about 250 miles away
and the traffic was terrible. End of the song was I was 45 minutes too late. Meet and greet was over... roll
But luckily I met Warren who managed to get another 15 minutes for me though Joe had a tight schedule this evening.
So we had a nice chat about amps (Joe, thanks for your HRM setting tips! they work very well for me!)
Thanks guys for beeing down to earth.
It was also great to meet all the forum members like Andre, Eva, Issy and Marlies.
We enjoyed the evening and had lots of fun in first row. cool

What are they? I have an S&M Special but would love to hear what Joe suggested.

Re: A signed Gigliotti and a great concert

Great story, Alex! Everytime I've met Joe, I'm always too tongue tied to say anything but "Great Show". lol I'd like to hear the settings just out of curiosity.

Re: A signed Gigliotti and a great concert

Wow Alex that's really cool man!  I'm very jealous of all you guys who have got to meet Joe and talk gear with the man!  That Gigiotti just became a little more valuable lol.  Cool pics man...and yes we want to hear what Joe's amp suggested settings are! wink Don't leave us hangin' mad cool

Re: A signed Gigliotti and a great concert

Well, the main settings aren't a new invention of the wheel but the details makes a difference.
Joe suggested preamp boost on, mid boost on, bass and treble on 10 o'clock and mids on 7.
I used have more bass and less treble before. Else were almost identical.
A note: These settings are very middy and probably useful only for amp blending.
Anyway, I tried these settings with my HRM100/2550 rig. I immediately noticed
more clearness in the bottom end and a rather 3-dimensional lead tone. I tried the old settings and compared.
So far Joes settings are a defo improvement. Gonna see how it'll work in the band contex.
Also see this settings as a rough idea to take the right direction.
In the end your own ear should decide if this your personal "Joe sound"

Ken I know what you mean. It was like I have million questions
but now I don't remember a single one. tongue Luckily I didn't forgot about this HRM one.

Take care guys

Re: A signed Gigliotti and a great concert

Just saw this ... I still regret not stealing your guitar when you weren´t looking. lol

Honestly, it´s a beautiful guitar ... next time you can bring your JBLP for Issy and me to play, o.k.?! wink
Do you play this on stage btw?

Eva

Re: A signed Gigliotti and a great concert

Well Eva, if you were really like this then Joe would miss a couple
of his guitars meanwhile too... lol lol

I think I wouldn't let sign my JBLP since there is a signed certificate within.
And oh yes, I play it on every gig. It is my main LP.
I have also a '57 goldtop RI which is almost retired since I have the JBLP.
Here are some live pics with it..
