Topic: Paris, L'Olympia, Nov. 23rd

Hi everyone, this being my first post...

Just a quick report on yesterday night's show.

Awesome.

Told you it'd be quick. big_smile

JK....

It was my first JB show, and I'm a convert. I already loved the albums, but JB live is nothing short of outstanding. The audience must probably agree with me too, since joe received a standing ovation at the end of the gig and believe me, it was well deserved. Sloe Gin was as good as ever and the ballad of John Henry was a great show starter... I loved and enjoyed every minute of the show and hope to see you again soon somewhere on the road.

Thanks for that amazing moment Joe.

All the best.

Hi Chris, and welcome to the forum smile really pleased that you enjoyed the show. It's my first Joe show next week, and I hear nothing but good things from everyone that's ever been. If I get any more excited I think I'll burst <wondering if wrapping myself in cling film to stop this from happening would be considered slightly fetishist> All things aside tho, I hope that you stick around.

All the best

Hi Chris, I'm glad you enjoyed the show and I hope you'll like this place too.

Tomorrow's show in Brussels will be the first time I see Joe live. So far I've been blessed with the performances I attended, I'm sure he won't disappoint me!

Regards,

Maxime

Thanks for the update JK,  one word review works well!  Seeing Joe live is indeed special.
Maxime and Jon, you guys are in for a treat!  Enjoy and savor the moment...

Music is good for the Soul...

Re: Paris, L'Olympia, Nov. 23rd

Agreed !

JK just stands for just kidding in my post ( not saying the show not awesome, just saying I'd give a little more details than the one word review... smile )
...

Sure I'll stick around... wink

Can't wait for the next show though...

Re: Paris, L'Olympia, Nov. 23rd

Hey, no problem man !

It's almost been 24 hours, and I still feel on cloud 9...

Re: Paris, L'Olympia, Nov. 23rd

Welcome to all the Newbies and Bonavirgins, at that. Now you find out how needy we really are! Details...Gushing is allowed, and even encouraged!!   Thanks, Cathy

Re: Paris, L'Olympia, Nov. 23rd

Details follow Cathy.

Michael said he would make a start tonight and I will follow!

Joe said to me it was one of his best gigs ever, all Olympia agreed.

It was STUNNING, OUT OF THE WORLD, OUTSTANDING and as a Frenchman told me; VIRTUOSO!
He also said: We HAD BACH, MOZART. BEETHOVEN, now we have BONAMASSA!

Just one note from me already: I cried 3 times from emotion...........................

Welcome all.

No gush is adequate.

The high lasts for days.

The next concert never comes soon enough.

Re: Paris, L'Olympia, Nov. 23rd

Absolutely still there in my mind... lol

When is the next show again ? big_smile

"Virtuoso" is an understatement : shredders usually use ultra high gain amps, thin necks, light strings and low action to achieve ease of playing. Reaching the same speed and control on a ( very ) heavy stringed, high action Les Paul and medium gain amp setup is just insane. That alone commands a lot of respect, but when you add "soul" to the equation and "feel", it's just "otherworldly'' in my book.

Re: Paris, L'Olympia, Nov. 23rd

Chris, Jon, Maxime, trust me you can get excited and gush all you want here.  It's been going on for a long time and the flabbergasted responses shall indeed continue, despite a total lack of disbelief upon embarking, that anything but a superbly fantastic event is about to be one's intimate first Joe Bonamassa Experience.  Those great guys also in the band are true believers too.  Got to...Keep On Crowing!

Re: Paris, L'Olympia, Nov. 23rd

Welcome Chris.

So glad you enjoyed the show. I can't believe it was only just over a year ago that I first saw Joe Bonamassa performing live. But I still remember thinking that I'd come across something really special. Then the RAH doubled, tripled... that feeling.

I'm sure you'll be on that Joe high for ages.
