Everyone that celebrates the day enjoy family and friends. I will smoke the marinated 20lb bird like every year. Best to you all.
Rick
I heard your thanksgiving takes place on the 4th Thursday in November, that would make it the 26th this year! .... Is that right ?

Happy Thanksgiving to you all from Cathy and me in a miserably dreary, wet and gloomy Amsterdam. I expect the heavens to brighten later this afternoon as we approach show time.
We tried, without success, to find a turkey yesterday, so a visit to the local Hard Rock for a traditional meal is still an option, if we can find the time.

I heard his announcement. He said that the pardon was due to his daughters. If it was up to him "I would have eaten the sucker." Oh, and the turkey's (the bird) name is Courage Best to all, Rick.
Good thing Patty and family aren't having me around for dinner. I'd thank them profusely and rave 'bout her cookin' until I loaded up on 3rds, and then I start a food fight or if you will, decorate that tree (if it's the kind of tree I believe is ahem, out of season-I'd season it rightly) with peas, corn, smashed potatoes, turkey giblets & gravy, cranberry sauce, lobster tail, all the remaining buttered rolls, punkin apple and cherry pies with whipped cream.... And then I'd do the dishes and then we'd watch football and then we'd play cards and drink black coffee and...and...I'd never be heard from again, whether anyone asked around for me in the here and now or heaven...
A lesson in enthusiasm.

To anyone aghast or concerned-This is all pure kidding. Patty and & I have a special bond of funning!

45 pounds?
Saw a segment on Food Networks show Unwrapped about the White House Birds. There's 2 of them raised in a seperate pen and fed a special diet, then they get wrapped in a protective blanket so as not to damage their feathers for their trip to D.C. The Prez only pardons 1 bird I believe so the other probably ends up on the White House dinner table. I wonder if the loser sees it comin'? HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
