Sweet man. I really appreciate the input! The only 100 plexi that I've had the chance of playing through was one just like yours at Guitar Center. They had the thing attenuated to the max but it had a pretty nice tone. I personally love the look of the plexis too. Whenever I see a guy with one I immediately think that he means business lol. I'm cool with it being a little cleaner as you mentioned because I want it to have a dryer, less saturated sound. I loved the Tonebender in your video Ben. It really did conjur up that old Jeff Beck/Jimmy Page tone! I am thinking about picking up one of those Fulltone Soulbenders the next time I see one used/cheap. How do you think just a simple TS808 in front of the plexi only would work?
PS if you want to convert your 1959SLPx to HW you can order the parts from MetroAmp and solder them yourself. The instructions are really really good. Or you could always sell that amp and just buy the kit altogether! (You don't really NEED to do anything, that rig sounds killer as is)
